I am a 84mm spec. The one month course at SIW is one of the worst in my ns. Go for mission, come back dig firetrench, go again, come back dig again. Exercise at brunei is almost dead, especially after water-crossing, you see your 84 turn brown(with rust) you can cry.
I think 2-3 years later i cant carry the dumb gun anymore in reservist. Hope they send me to some MILAN course instead, haha. Haiz going for my 2nd in-camp soon, get to see my useless metal again. -

Problem wif out shoot and scoot concept is that we scoot on foot. The malaysians though having 2guns less per company scoot on unimogs. -

I agree that our life can be hell. Tug the gun and carry the manpack for 10+ km, bash through forest nearly tripping in the dark, in the end go firebase ... "gun x ... fire" ... then miss target! How can we don't miss target? The scope alignment confirm out after all the bashing and climbing. Not to mention you want to concuss when reaching the firebase. By right at the firebase we should be most alert, but during peace time training we just go there and _____
Actually the assistant life can be hell too. 4 canisters + full FBO on your back whereas the gunner has his weight more evenly distributed, in front and behind. I'm not sure how you all carry the gun, I assume you sling it in front or at the side.
By right peacetime training it is the ASST who suffers. 'Cos by right we need to carry 4 canisters + full FBO for peacetime training. And as you know, the rounds are never depleted, unlike the real thing
During ATEC, no need to say. The gun so freaking light. In fact the MILES version of the 84 machiam same weight as the MILES LAW. -

Ok la, it goes both way. The MILES law is heavier and bulkier than normal LAW; the MILES 84 is lighter and more compact than normal 84. In fact, there is no scope on the MILES 84.

But it's true, my unit during active also SIR, all the 84 second gunner in our section all "hiong ka leow" it was a gamble, but 1 kanna all kanna in that sense they very unity, very "yi chi". Our Encik saw that, he left us alone after a while.
But whether btec or atec or wat?tec all empty canister or the most also 1.25ltr coca cola bottles.
