My fren was mob during that time i think.....wasnt really mob lah i dunno lah but anyway he was in the PDF and was having war games againest gurkas.
Oh and my ex tuition teacher kenna mob on that day...he was a combat engineer -
what CJ wrote was the general information that are public knowledge but there are also less public information too sensitive to write out, but alot of pple know that story.

I remembered that incident. It was the largest Airborne drop in SEA or something.
So Singapore have the large-scale Mob in which if I remembered correctly for the 1st time the SAF actually "uncrate" those Dri-clad AMXs and M113s during a Mob.
I remembered it was in the papers. -

Back in the days when SOF's existence was denied after the SQ119 incident, we were under instructions to stick to the official story: the regulars in the battalion were rotated through the CT role. In other words, there was no such thing as SOF.
So if you unit is really supposed to be under wraps, why even hint at it? After all, aren't you supposed to be secret? -

Co-incidence that these paratroopers from 2 governments chose to end their bilateral exercise on our national day and 10km away from our borders in between us and the PUB water plant in johore.

We of course responded with a total armored mobilisation. First time I ever saw the Red "Fighting Spirit" flashed on TV.
We had a career armored officer together with his family over for dinner that day, he returned to camp immediately.
Strange don't you think prior to that event we have at least been on very good terms with indonesia helping each other with projects like tourism & batam etc ...
After that day incident I never totally trust "malays".

How did Mindef mobilise all the soldiers? they mobilise only those on standby (reservist&nsf) or they called up every1 including those not on duty?

if he's supposed to be secret... he'll simply claim to be from another ordinary unit. -

i agree with most of the thing u say..but u claim tat your unit is classified in the "vocation" thread"..but now u claim that u do not have a vocation that u can classified under..so which is which?

there's nothing great about classified unit in the saf...
nowadays there r so many units in the saf that r so-call classified or not officially recognised.. but everyone has a vocation thats for sure...
my unit also not suppose to exist, but at least i can tell ppl proudly that i'm a cdo.

Has it occurred to you that you've put the cart before the horse here? It's not a case of us questioning the same (very questionable) views or statements because we agree - it's that we agree because we both find the statements questionable. If you say or write something that flies in the face of objectivity, those who see things objectively will of course have similar things to say about your view, since the objective truth acts as a common reference point. I don't know where you got your idea of how this forum is moderated, but the moderators here uphold the sgForums commandments and do not act as arbiters of truth. As Nathan (who is not a relative or fan of mine either - in fact until the last few days I haven't seen him around much recently) notes, if you feel you are free to post your views without any form of explanation or sunstantiation, we are equally free to question, dissect, examine, deconstruct, analyse, and ultimately derive our amusement from hokey ideas put on this forum.
In the same fell swoop, while you accuse others of ganging up, you're trying to start a community movement yourself, by painting yourself as defender of jacobs and gary - I'm sure you must have heard you use the word hypocrite used around you before.
Besides, gary is doing well enough for himself - posters are disagreeing with him but nobody is attacking him because he actually builds some objectivity into his posts and knows how to properly handle ideas that he knows are subjective. As for jacobs, read the thread carefully and you will see that he introduced the word "idiot" into the conversation - he called himself names, and I just agreed.
As for yourself, you've got this habit of saying something and then running away from it. I honestly don't know if you're just trying to get attention or lack the capacity to take an idea all the way through to its bitter end, or whether it's the forum equivalent of the old "burning paper bag full of dogsh*t" gag. In any case, I'm here to tell you that that dog just don't hunt.

I think after the SQ hijacking incident the "unit" that was responsible for it was rewarded.
