One of the three robber suspects being hunted on Pulau Tekong has been captured.
The suspect in his 20s was nabbed at about 6.30pm on Friday by Gurkhas.
Police said the man, who was not carrying any weapons, claims to be an Indonesian.
More than 700 police special force officers and guardsmen are still hunting for the other two robbers.
It is believed they may be armed with pistols.
The men had fled to the island on Thursday in a wooden boat after allegedly committing two robberies in Johor, Malaysia.
So far the search party, which includes sniffer dogs, has not spotted the other suspects.
The manhunt began in the south-eastern part of Pulau Tekong, where the men landed in a motorised sampan, and has so far covered two-thirds of the densely forested island.
Checkpoints have been set up all over the island.
The soldiers and policemen are now focusing their attention on six to seven square kilometres in the eastern part of Pulau Tekong.
But the area is covered in swamps and this has hampered the manhunt.
Two helicopters have also been crisis-crossing the island, trying to spot the fugitives as troops try to flush them out. - CNA

recurit where got book out?
i still see quite a few of them in BMTC in the evening (6pm). But they are all properly shelted inside bunk. No movement unless going to cookhouse for meal. -

i hear different stories from the island itself. they were spotted together but due to certain unexpected reason... The grp tat spotted them cannot do a chase up. -

On the other hand....I dun think need lar.....juz fall in the troops....let them eat pizza, KFC, nice cold soft drinks.....in front of the hungwee fellow....and see how long he last... I am willing to bet he will sing like a canary!

Oh ya... most of them be missing their 16km route march! This isnt good. imagine, doing 2 long distance route march next week! hahaha! They "cant pass out" without completing the 24km route march according to the training guideline. But there always "space" for changes on special situation.

apparently the guy was too tired to resist capture. the 23 year old is being interrogated now, and will be charged tomorrow morning with illegal entry.
their strategy is to tire the other 2 amigos.
