i was not providing an answer its was nv my intention when i commented. must everything that people comment on have to be an answer?? most comments i put are meant to "provoke" a certain thinking path, could be useless, but the thread could lead on to something useful.. i dunno. wats dumb abt that? -

To catch 3 you need 700 ?
what if 10 in different directions ?
Hope they keep it low profile. The press should not review too much.

KNN I am surprise pp say we are overkill on the search ops..either they dint go to Tekong/jungle for trg during their NS life or they are paper pusher. Com-on it is not that we are searching for 3 suspect in a housing estate where u can block the stair case and send 50 offcier to go door by door search..
Nanbei the jungle is big and too much hiding place not to mention the swampy area, didnt u guys saw the aerial footage from the UH1 yesterday news..u tell me isnt that area big?? Movie/TV search is always simple but true in real ops situation...

Shouldn't we look into a surveillance system (accoustic or maybe those used for measuring earthquake) in these areas......the system should be portable to other battlefields.
With accoustics , I forsee a need for heavy breathing filtering and very occasionally orgasmic screaming may saturate the amplifiers in the detectors.

Another potential oversight- our taxi drivers have a radio in their vehicle to make emergency calls etc Bus drivers doesn't have one and have to stop their vehicles make public phone calls OR use passengers handphones.
Bus drivers and maybe public need to be trained to look out for suicide bombers (pregnant women with beards?) .... and what to do when they meet one. -
