SINGAPORE : Basic Military Training on Pulau Tekong resumes on Monday following the arrests of three robbery suspects on the island.
The 56-hour joint manhunt by the army and police ended on Sunday at about 5pm after the third man was caught near the beach where the trio's abandoned boat was found.
Training stopped on Thursday when a massive manhunt involving 700 policemen and soldiers began.
The three men had fled to the island on a motorised sampan after allegedly committing 2 robberies in Johor.
The first one caught has been charged for illegal entry, while the other two who were nabbed a day later, will be charged Monday.
The Singapore Police meanwhile are still investigating their firearms offences.
"About half an hour after the third suspect was found, he led us to a spot about 600 metres away from where he was found, he pointed out to us a pistol which he had earlier discarded," said Senior Assistant Commissioner Tan Puay Kern.
Malaysian police had told Channel NewsAsia that the men had 2 guns.
But so far, only a pistol and 4 bullets have been recovered.
They are being tested to see if they are 'live' rounds.
If the suspects are found guilty of having firearms, they could each be jailed for at least 5 years and get 6 strokes of the cane under Singapore law."
The police say they are still verifying the second man's identity, as he had claimed to be Malaysian.
The Malaysian police had said that all three suspects were Indonesians.
The police found on the 24-year-old Indonesian, 48,500 Indonesian Rupiah and some Malaysian Ringgit and Singapore dollars.
