kilo coy is actually a very very small part of tekong... bmtc actually occupies only the most southern portion...but kilo is at it extreme eastern part of bmtc. But...it is still NOT feasible for a recruit from kilo coy to see the sampan land as next to kilo is actually a canal followed by a dense piece of vegetationOriginally posted by gary1910:So where is Kilo coy, the south or north of the island?
Becos we are getting conflicting reports, CNA said it was the south of the island whereas CH5 and U CH said is the north of the island.
i also believe they landed on the reclaimed land.Originally posted by Farmer Brown:kilo coy is actually a very very small part of tekong... bmtc actually occupies only the most southern portion...but kilo is at it extreme eastern part of bmtc. right after that is the Old school 1 and there's no way a recruit can see that... besides..school 1 is on a cliff that over looks the sea so not much of a chance of landing there...
unless the 3 stooges land right in bmtc...there's no way any recruit could have seen them.. well...unless they're out training and they get "contacted"
the "reclaimed land" is a good spot for landing though..its fairly deep in singapore waters which explains why the msian coast guard couldn't chase them... and tekong is the only huge enough land form for these robbers to seek refuge...
ah... just as I had thought. There IS a general lockdown of BMTC and I bet SISPEC as well.Originally posted by gary1910:Last I heard from my nephew, all the Rec are told to stay in their bunk, no bookout.
If I am rec there now, it will the best time in their BMT other than the parents visit day.
As the matter , all Rec will hope it will last for another one more day till Saturday.
everyone wants a piece of the pie. this is actually a really good training opportunity.Originally posted by Farmer Brown:well i think the SOF would rather not have the spotlight but since the reporters from CNA has already announced it, yes...the SOF is in.. howeveer...for all you war mongers out there, i think the whole saga would end in the amicable surrender of the 3 terrified souls... can you imagine, they'd prob have NO idea who's after them...
Well, we have the Cdo, the SOF, the Gurkha, Police Task force, the STAR and I think last reinforcement the Guards, I think they are treating this as a anti-terrorist exe except with live rounds and real enemy.Originally posted by Farmer Brown:well i think the SOF would rather not have the spotlight but since the reporters from CNA has already announced it, yes...the SOF is in.. howeveer...for all you war mongers out there, i think the whole saga would end in the amicable surrender of the 3 terrified souls... can you imagine, they'd prob have NO idea who's after them...
maybe..Originally posted by Guile:What if the 3 robbers/terrorists are just decoys for other terrorists to attack other parts of Singapore?....
Imagine we sent so many of our manpower there to hunt them there leaving other places on mainland Singapore less guarded. This is an opportunity for terrorists to strike.
I think our PCG and navy are doing a good job in catching illegal immigrants to the main island, but WTF , they have nelgected Tekong island.Originally posted by tripwire:aiyo.... we only sent 700 soldier niah... not 70,000 soldier...
if the terrorist wanna wack us... frankly i dont think we can prevent them in time...
but then... its quite true that tekong defence today kenna malu malu.... i am sure the tekong CCO and all his direct superiors must be looking forward to a very bleak future...
Each bus stop is about 400m to 450m apart, 7 bus stops would be around 3km.Originally posted by wuming78:tt would be such a total embarrasement for the saf...
anyway on the chann 8 news jus now, the reporter first reported tt tekong was like 7 bus stops from the ferry terminal.
den later, in hypothesising tt the amigos are stil on the island, she said the closest landform was JB - 1km, followed by ubin 2 km, and singapore 5 km.
7 bus stops = 5 km?!?
she said 5 km.Originally posted by tranquilice:Each bus stop is about 400m to 450m apart, 7 bus stops would be around 3km.
Bus stops here are normally 400m apart from each others. However, there are places where bus stops are less than 100m apart, most in the case of staggered bus stops.Originally posted by wuming78:she said 5 km.
and the dist between busstops where got 400 - 450m? cos tt means 2 busstops wil be close to 1km!? tt certainly doesnt feel like the dist i walk when i choose to walk instead of take bus.
