"NATIONAL servicemen from the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force can send an SMS or e-mail message to inform their units when they wish to go overseas on a holiday.
The electronic National Servicemen Overseas Notification (eNSON) system, which is similar to the system that the Ministry of Defence uses for its NSmen, will start on Thursday.
In registering their overseas trip through the Internet, the men will be guided by an interactive voice system. For SMS, the number is 9225-5367.
Currently, they inform their units during office hours through phone, fax, letter or over the counter at the Exit Permit Office in the Police Cantonment Complex.
From June, employers can also file make-up pay claims for their employees online, instead of manually."
