thats probably because the kids, or counter boys at the bugis shop know NUTS about modelling..Originally posted by Viper52:My tastes are towards aircraft, in all scales (1/32 1/48 and 1/72). Modern, WWII, post-war etc are fine. My favourites haunts are
Hobby Focus - 2nd Flr, Far East Plaza (above Burger King)
Hobby Icon - Orchard Plaza, 3rd Flr.
Miniature Hobby - Marina Square, 3rd Floor (near Superbowl now but moving soon temporarily)
The rest I don't usually with because the prices are stiff, and IMO their attitudes leave a little to be desired. Particularly the one at Bugis.
go to miniature hobby at marina..... the display models there are totally awesomeOriginally posted by Aulf:Ya agree with u man ... but the Bugis place has very nice displays of the models they've completed ... liked to go there to get some inspiration ...
haiii too bad, most kits out of stock liao...but anyway...can try luck lor..Originally posted by KamenRider:yesterday went miniaturehobby, it's moving shop temporarily and is offering 20% discount on (most?) the kits. last day is 15 April.
check it out.
Yeah, as a hobby shop owner, if I were to hire anyone, the No.1 criteria is that he/she MUST be a modeler.Originally posted by Prodigy:thats probably because the kids, or counter boys at the bugis shop know NUTS about modelling..
anyway...you should check out the shop at millenia walk..even though the shop is small...the price and variety is reasonably good...i've checked and compared the prices of most shops i've visted and the cheapest is timemachine-studio and miniature hobby...
well, maybe i'll check out far east plaza and orchard plaza...
No really correct its trumpeter thats is now producing quality product eg.trumpeter's 1/35 WW2 'leopold' railway gun got 1000++ parts compare 2 dragon's leopold which only have 700++ i happen 2 have 1 trumpeter leopold its super detailOriginally posted by Prodigy:hi, i hear that this forum is much better for discussing about scale modellings so i kinda shift the topic over here from chit chat.. hope the mod dont mind
well, i like doing 1:35 AFV... i prefer doing german armour from WW2
anyone have any brands to recommend? shops? location etc..
i love dragon modelling ltd (DML), dragon produce the best kits(detailed) in my opinion and the price is cheaper than tamiya! the shop i get my stuff is at millenia walk called timemachine-studio..it deals mainly in dragon products.. action figures, kits etc...
i agree i bought the trumpeter railway gun 4 $139 from miniture hobby but when i went 2 bugis (level 3 roy's hobby ) it sell the same thing at $229 think his crazyOriginally posted by Prodigy:oh yea..i went to the shop at marina (miniaturehobby)..good shop..in fact, intending to go there later this afternoon.. the price there is quite reasonable...
The orchard store, i find that it is abit small and doesnt have much variety (AFV) ..so.. hehe
and the last one at bugis..thats the LAST place i would go... the stuff there is EXPENSIVE! 10-20 bucks more than timemachine studio and the miniaturehobby

Hmm..... that is the problem. I am not living in Singapore at the moment. Many thanks for your help and suggestion.Originally posted by eurofighter:Maybe if you can wait, jus pop into any coming army open house(if there is any) and take photos of the AFV you want.

Im only interested in "Tall" ships..as in the old-fashioned sailing kinds.
Anywhere where can get at reasonable prices? I remember ToyRus used to sell them..but not anymore.
