Glad to find out this topic here. I used to frequent the old modeling shop at Bugis, price was good back then, started with planes, choppers, then aircraft carriers and figures.
One question/problem that's buggin me, how do you guys keep your model dust free????? I kept mine in boxes now in the store room cos, gave up cleaning the dust that's collected.

Yo CJ, just got back from there. Scooped up the Revell (ex Hasegawa) 1/48 A-7E Corsair, 1/48 Italeri OH-58A Kiowa and 1/48 Academy MiG-21PFOriginally posted by ChineseJunk:Did anyone visit MH today (Monday Apr 26) for MH's last day of business at old location super duper massive 40 per cent off all kits except special offer items and bring your own plastic bag clearance sale?
What did you buy?
I rushed down during lunch after I got the SMS.......responded much faster than for SAF Mobex.![]()
One fella even came from Changi Airport - Viper52, he's a friend of yours. You introduced us during our recce trip to AA site before the show opened.
The last T-55! You lucky sonafagun!Originally posted by ChineseJunk:Hi Viper52,
I got the last Tamiya T-55 in the shop and a Zvezda BMD-1 and walked out a happy customer.
I didn't get more becos MH's blasted 28% sale weeks before the massive firesale already broke the bank
I got Trumpeter's new Challenger 2 (both versions, made two trips to the shop to buy' em. stupid), an Eastern Express BRDM-1, a Lee E-2C and three Italeri F-5Es which I intend to paint in RSAF colours.
The BRDM-1 was meant for a quick weekend build over Good Friday. I opened the box when I got home, saw the interior detail and put it aside as it would take too much work.
I started on a Dragon BMP-2 instead, the one that comes with the mine plough. Almost done.
Pity u couldn't join us for last week's excursion to SGC.... eurofighter took lots of pix.
But there'll be others

Owner changed. Even the one at Marina Square (Miniature Hobby) also different owner (except for one) but same name. True Roy's tend to be more expensive. Go down to Timemachine Studio if want latest Dragons kitOriginally posted by dusterbuster:Hobbypoint at Tiong Bahru Plaza is the place to go.Kits are cheaper compare to other hobby shops in sg.
I still prefer Miniature Hobby during their bugis junction days, good concept. Now Roy's hobby at Bugis is the last place i would go to.Too expensive![]()
There's a model shop in Selegie (basement) that conducts model building classes for $30. Airbrush and paints provided. Not sure of the shopping centre's name but it's the one next to Paradiz centre, Mac's and billard saloons in the basement.Originally posted by KiloClass:can anyone tell me what are the "tools" that are needed to build these models ? , and how much do they cost ? . i've tried to build an F-4 but it turned out to be a piece of junk . if anyone can give tips for a newbie like me on modelling , you are very very welcomed to do that . i really want to learn this art . thanks
