I saw before the RP at ferry terminal carried SAR21..
But not for those duty guards.
BMTC will probably continue using M16S1 as the the basic weapon to start off with.

What's so basic about M16 and more advanced about SAR21?
Is using SAR21 so hard (like flying) compared to M16 (walking)? -
Hahaha, on the contrary.
The SAR-21 is simpler to shoot.
The M-16 requires a more advanced and complex aiming techniques to get a good shot in. Unless under 25m. Close both eyes also can shoot. -

The ease of use of the SAR-21 probably encourages sloppy shooting skills though, so the recruits at BMT will probably still use the M-16, to train then in the basics of shooting.
