Singaporreans allowed to be private army soldiers?

  Any knowledge about ppl who were in SAF or at least locals who went on in places like France's Foreign Legion? Or any other mercenary army serving the needs of another nation ? What are the prodedures to apply for current locals ?

  thought i saw this post somewhere...i came across a book at borders sharing about so called private contractors in iraq...they do not call personnel soldiers or mercenaries...rather known as security administrators...requirements like US citizenship...also must include 10 year experience in army sf, rangers, delta, seals or swat...they have other posts which accept foreigners...check it out at www.halliburton.com ...btw..their big boss is ex US vice president.
  
  other interesting facts include Computer Science Corp in US which took over (i think) our local company CSA doing computer services outsourcing...they have a division which outsource highly trained security admin to places like iraq and gulf region...not doing computer stuffs i am sure...

  officially, i believe it's illegal for s'poreans to be a legionnaire, though i believe that would be a very interesting question to pose to your MP the next time you see him

  There was this RSAF fighter pilot who went to Oz and joined the RAAF. He was due to participate in an FPDA air defence exercise but he was not allowed to come back for the exercise, i.e. PNG.
  
  This occured in the early 1990s - if you're an RSAF fighter pilot who served in the early 1990s you may know who I'm referring to.

  check it out here http://www.foreignlegionlife.com/ it will tell you all that you need to know and for a Singaporean, i think you once a Legionnaire you may not or want to come back as another 'person' (read on the name change) the garment will want you back as a FT maybe best that you change name than come back if you find the point of coming back .
