  Mounting an M61 rotary cannon onto an M113 will get you the M163. Even when upgraded under the M163 PIVADS Product Improved Vulcan Air Defence System program, the range is 2,600m. The Igla-1 has an effective range of up to 5000m.
  
  The M163 was retired from US Army because it is no longer effective. So why should we convert to something that is obsolescent/obsolete?
