PETALING JAYA: The Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2004 exhibition that starts tomorrow will showcase four newly developed customised military applications vehicles.
The made-in-Malaysia products are the Defender 130 Tactical Command Post, Defender 130 Crew Cab Light Recovery Vehicle, Defender 130 Troop Carrier and Defender 6x6 Multi-Role Vehicle.
They are based on the Land Rover Defender and jointly developed with the armed forces.
They will be displayed at the Apac Exhibition Centre in Subang until Thursday.
In a statement, Land Rover (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Ali Shuib said the company had invested about RM1mil in research and development to produce the special application vehicles.

I don't have any links or pics, but i did come across an interesting 6x6 landie:
Aussie 6x6 Landie, called a Long Range Patrol Vehicle (LRPV). If i am not wrong, the aussies have a few of these running around in Iraq at the moment. And yes, that's a dirtbike on the back of it.

seems like their defence industries are hottin up.. licensed production of AUG-A3 ( look damn solid to me, at least much better lookin than the SAR21s we have) , 4x4 vehicles, 3-tonners, 5-tonners, 7-tonners, there's even news today that malysia is considering the purchase of MLRS from Pakistan... they seem damn rich huh....
