PTP and BMT

Hey guys... need some help... My bf is going to enlist on the 9 june wednesday... Its the PTP phrase right since he did not take his NAFA test? If its PTP, can he still book out on weekend... the first weekend that he enlist? When is the parents visit weekend? Is it at the PTP phrase or BMT? I'm confused... pls help me... coz i need to arrange leave and such...
If he is enlisting on the 9june, can he still go overseas before the enlistment date? does he need to get any approval from the ministry? Is it hard to be approved? Thks again so muchie....

first 3 wks of PTP - confinement wks. but if there is a public holiday during that period, he will get to book out. the parent visit is usually scheduled on the 2nd weekend if there are no public holidays in that period.Originally posted by shirurinu:Hey guys... need some help... subsequently he will get to book out every weekend.
he will transit into bmt after ptp. however if he passes any of the disruption IPPT tests during ptp, he will get to leave ptp, and will not need to go back until bmt starts.
yes he can go overseas. but since he has registered for ns, i think it is better to find out if he needs an exit permit to do so. -
Thks wuming.... how long does ptp last? so that means he cannot book out on the first 3 weeks of ptp..... then the first weekend he enlist is not considered right... since he enlist on a wednesday...
then when bmt starts, he can booked out ever weekend already? -
hmm.. gd qn abt the exit permit. might most prolly be enlisting in june also... wanna take a short vacation out of sg for 2 days or so, need exit permit too?

but if u already inside the army serving NS, then u need an exit permit no matter how long u leave singapore... -
Nowadays, applying for exit permit is very easy, you can just go to HttP://www.MIW.com.sg and yes you have to apply for exit permit as long as it is more than 24 hrs..... ur bf can go anywhere during this period but if he is to go overseas during his service time he will need to inform his unit about it..... PTP is rougly ard 2 mths and BMT 3 mths.... this is a rough gauge but it will be slightly less than that....
total of around 4.5 mths.... 1 week is confinement week after that visitors will be able to visit 2 week and by the 3rd week can book out..... actually your Bf can still take his NAFA test between now and the early june if he manage to get a silver he will not have to go into PTP. The booking out every week will not be confirm as sometimes he will get confinements or due to training purposes..... -
