Geylang-based Hoot U, a tertiary institution for ah bengs, ah lians and samsengs, says that it wants to send some of its students on scholarship to undergo MalaysiaÂ’s newly-introduced national service programme.
Said Hoot U Dean Prof. Lai Piah Chwee, “Hwah, Malaysia’s NS is si beh tok kong eh. Their first few weeks of BMT oreddy got people hooting each other, molesting, extorting money and overdosing on drugs!”
In comparison, said Prof. Lai, Singapore’s NS recruits were “neng kway chuah (weak like paper)!”
According to the Star, the following incidents have occurred to date:
- March 28: Groups clash in Kuala Berang camp
- March 28/29: Two beaten up by 14 others for alleged handphone theft in Dungun camp
- March 29: 'Seniors' beat up trainee in extortion bid at UiTM Seri Iskandar campus
- March 30: Girl found dead with drug paraphernalia on USM campus, Penang
- March 31: Staff member transferred after alleged molest in Sri Impian camp, Penang
There are apparently also reports of rioting and alleged extortion, claims of sexual harassment and even a sighting of ghosts at a camp in Negeri Sembilan that caused mass hysteria, which resulted in twenty trainees being hospitalised and a bomoh being summoned to exorcise the camp.
“Malaysia’s NS programme very clear,” said Prof. Lai. “When they cho kwee, they acherly got real kwee!”
Prof. Lai said that the various incidents were totally in sync with Hoot UÂ’s curriculum and that his scholars were raring to go.
Said second year student Quah See Mee, “Singapore NS nowsaday all very senang. The bunk all swee-swee, very welfare. In Malaysia, hwah, they no training oreddy hoot people upside down. Later got training, they sure overtake us!”
Freshman student Anne Chua Kiam Pah said that she thought the Malaysian NS experience was very “value added”.
“Go Malaysia, not only can you get powderful ah beng training,” she explained. “Can also stock up on pirated DVDs. It’s damn pow ka leow, one!”
The Malaysian Government is now considering Hoot U’s proposal for an exchange scholarship. Said Malaysian Government spokesman Datuk Pukul bin Hantam, “I think maybe we can allow Singaporeans to join us. They won’t really use up any resources anyway, because we are informed that all Singaporeans are able to drink their own pee.”
