How to get selected for OCS when in BMT?

Hi,I'm just curious,how do I get selected for OCS during BMT?Currently in NCC now,was Platoon Best during my Specialist Course.And aimig to go for Cadet Lieutenant course at the end of this year.Will this help?

Anyway, you've got to be doing the right things the right time and yet stay low profile.
Cadet Lieutenant course may just be a simulation for BMT. -
well..if you really want to go OCS can sign on wad..but must meet criteria as well lar..

but in the end i think IF u r realli serious abt a career with the army, or u r seriously interested in army life, den u may wanna sign on realli.
if not, and u jus wanna be an nsf who goes to ocs, there r several things they look at: the computer test u take when u go for med checkup at cmpb, ur highest std achieved for education, ur performance in general and during the sit test, the qualities u display, ur peer appraisal. in the end, much of it is the right attitude, teamwork and cooperation, and o cos, some manner of leadership. notice i din mention fitness - its not a crucial prerequisite, but o cos, would stil be considered.
as for ur experience in ncc, if u dun make use of it, den it wont be of use. it may be a ticket for u to kanna apptments early during ur bmt - tt may be ur chance to perform. other than tt, wat u haf done during ncc means nuts to them. -
R u very good in ur study?? Usually those A level students from good JC n score gd result end up in OCS... most of the Officer cadets are Company Best Category in BMT.
So work hard for one of it. Sure can go one. -
do well in your range/ippt/soc/fieldcamp and the computer test prior to enlistment.
Anyway during my time (1999), got one guy damn blur one, do things slowly and always doze off make it to OCS. And some recruits expected to go in, never make it. So some people guess that the posting is all predetermined one.
If given a choice again, i would rather go thru ns as a man. Officer/specs may have some pride, but man are really the people without stress or responsibilities. -

Basic is you must be 1st medically fit 1st.
2 ways you can ensure you get into OCS
1) One study real hard. A very good result will ensure you a place in OCS, even if you are not that fit.
2) The other is for those result not too good but still a pass. Than you still have a chance, you go in the good old hard way. You have to be fit, mentally suitable ( answer surveys correctly ), show leadership, common sense, recommended by Platoon instructors, preform well in situation tests.
Just be yourself, the instructors can see who carry balls, acting for them to see. That is why you see some expected to go in will not.
It is good to make known your intension of wanting to be a guard officer in BMT interview with your Platoon commander. At the end of BMT, select infantry as the choice instead of support.
If you are chosen for OCS ( infantry ) also make know your choice is guard unit. After OCS (infantry) , you will need to go for convertion course for Guard, before you can become a guard officer.
Life as a officer is not as elegant or fun or galmour. First you have to go through hell in OCS. After that you still face a lots of stress or responsibilities and the same time trying to earn the acceptance and respect of your man and sgts.

Me from NCC Land.Central District.Am average in studies,but very according to my friends, and teachers they say tt I'm a Military Freak.Anyway,wat's this computer test thingy?I heard of it but dunnoe wat it is.Can sumone elaborate and give an example.And I wanna be in Guards coz I wanna chiong suan.Also,can anyone tell me a unit where you get to play with all sorts of small arms?

u reminded mi of my BMT section mate. he's also a CLT very siow on. IPPT gold but posting kenna medic. not company best.
not even platoon best. but he's a very nice guy. not those ya ya papaya lah. neber too action one. do, he do siu siu one but perhaps because he's the quiet type so sispec also neber kenna.
my experience with ex-NCC man is that they tend to try too hard to impress. especially with M16. this kok-ster from NCC kenna posted my unit, damn yaya. tried his best to impress us all. so we decided since he's so garang, we made him the GPMG gunner.
to be a guards officer, you'll need to go ocs first. but if u sign on, u could ask for the unit to go mah, that's before u kenna enlisted lah. go CMPB tok to those admin personnel for a clearer picture.
and LTC also quite tua liap liao.
if ur results good can applly for SAF scholarship or the LSA.

as for this comp test, its a MCQ test administered after ur medical checkup at cmpb. they ask all sorts of physics, general knowledge, maths, etc questions, some of wich are given in a military context.
and if u wanna chiong sua, the army does tt in general - jus to different extents and in different manner, o cos wif diff modus operandi.
as for unit tt allows u to handle all sorts of small arms, u can be a weapons tech or armourer, or u can go to the cdo or special ops. -

n doesnt mean only specialist n officers will do the leading..sometime men will have to do the job n might do even do it better..just tat they dun want to show their worth,,,they perform in time of need..
but if u really wana lead..show them your worth..but at the same time understand the need of your peers too..
