How months around did you ORD?5 years is more like it. My army kits have mostly decomposed. SBO is literally rusted to dust. The metal rings and bars broke when I tug them. My boots and helmet are still functional and I can still fit into the fatigue pants, amazing.
You can kit-exchange your SBO, helmet and fullpack when you are back in camp. However, that depends on the arrangement that your unit RQ has made.Originally posted by rotary79:5 years is more like it. My army kits have mostly decomposed. SBO is literally rusted to dust. I think I should cut my hair again. just cut it last week, but realised that my sideburn is slightly passed the middle segment of the ear.
This is a new unit I'm being posted to, 23SA. No one told me, but I think I'm a gunner cos that's is what everyone say.
Oh BTW, can I bring my Nike track shoes in? The Army New Balance shoes is already torn.
Hey I ORDed the same time as you... But I have'nt been called up for ICT yet, but had my mobilization date which is on this week but I have a business trip to attend in Shanghai so I got a deferment.Originally posted by rotary79:5 years is more like it. I think differs from unit to unit, my ex unit did include additional letter to brief them what to bring, what to report in, how to get to camp, etc. Saves alot of uncessary phone calls from NSMenOriginally posted by wuming78:seems like these queries always comes up when a person goes for his ICT for the first time. why cant the units be more proactive and disseminate the required info? hm..![]()
Don't need to bring duffel bag one (but I am suprise you keep one! As this item now requires you to return back to QM when your ORD)I don't know why, they didn't take it back from me and several of my other unit mates when we ORD.
Up to you on the duffel bag, but most reservist improvise. They ususally pack their full-pack then carry an extra bag. Helmet hang on full-pack. I seldom see reservist carry duffel bag in.Originally posted by rotary79:I don't know why, they didn't take it back from me and several of my other unit mates when we ORD.
But if I don't use the duffel bag, I wouldn't have enough space in my fullpack for the SBO and helmet. The SBO itself would have taken up the entire bag. I hope I don't look stupid being the only one to bring a duffel bag in. Why did the Army changed my vocation?
No it's not Typo. It is "Phase Date".
Another thing, the SAF100 state that ICT will end on Saturday 23:59. Does that mean we can book out at 13:00, or does it really mean book out at the ungodly hour of 23:59?
Bring a civilian bag for your personal stuff. If you drive, lagi best. Leave the SBO and helmet in the car until they are required.Originally posted by rotary79:I don't know why, they didn't take it back from me and several of my other unit mates when we ORD.

Originally posted by rotary79:Rotary79 you still have a period of at least 3 months to retake your IPPT again and at least get a silver/gold. All it takes is just a 3hrs of your time to make $200/$400. Just call or go online to book a IPPT slot at your nearest IPPT location. Just give yourself a month to train once a week running and stretching... you should at least get a silver.
Hi everyone,
Just want to say a big thank you to all, for your quick and helpful replies.
Honestly when I posted my queries here, I didn't expect more than 1 to reply, and certainly didn't anticipate the level of details, some of you have taken the trouble to type down. I am so grateful for all the help. Thank you all.
Just in case some of you want to know, I had completed the ICT last Saturday. The "Phase Date" was as described by Moxie. It's callback in phases, with specs being called back 3 days before us.
The first day of ICT was not really that strict cos our RSM was rather nice. But luckily I took many of your advices to cut my hair before going in. RSM actually hired a barber to cut NSMen hair that are too long. Guys with dyed hair were shaved. I also didn't become the only guy with duffel bag.
There were a lot of waiting around in the first day due to administrative matters, and we only got our bunks after lunch. BTW there were no area cleaning throughout the ICT. But we still kept the bunk clean before booking out.
Fortunately we have very nice Sergents and BC. The BC gives us Nights Off when possible, even Book Out during the last two days. The other Batteries didn't have such privilege. That's why even though I had a fever, I still attended the Field Training, cos I really hate to be out of course and sent to a different unit/vocation.
The only thing that sucks during the ICT was the IPPT. I pass but didn't get any money from the Govt.
It was overall a rather enjoyable ICT, playing with the big guns and all. Didn't thought that I would actually look forward to next year ICT.
