Hehe, you should always be happy to get new brand new hardware ba.
For our future RSN Formidable-Class Frigates :
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/formidable/index.htmlAccording to that site, "The Republic of Singapore Air Force will fly the shipborne helicopter and helicopter mission crew will be from the Republic of Singapore Navy. MINDEF is considering selection and procurement of the Eurocopter Cougar, NH Industries NH-90 or the Sikorsky S-70. "
I did a search for stats on all three contenders and to me, the NH-90 looks like a real solid navy helicopter for me. It can be outfitted for two specific roles, tactical transport or it can provide extra punch for the frigates by having Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface unit warfare capabilities for missions, plus a host of other applications such as airborne command post, special ops, parachuting...
Can oso do extra stuff like Search and Rescue, very important in case one of our ships langgar oil tanker again.
