How many sets of RTs do we have if we failed IPPT?

  I know first RT sessions failed,
  
  go for the second second sets of RT sessions.
  
  second sets of RT failed, what will happen?
  
  go for the thrid sets and so on?
  
  When will it end?

  If I am not wrong, one will be discharged after the 2nd phase of RT even you have failed the IPPT during RT.
  
  But you still liable for IPPT again for the new year , so book again and try to pass it b4 the next birthday, therefor the cycle will start again after your birthday if u continue to fail.

  1st phase RT is twice a week for 4 weeks( 1 weekday and 1 weekend), 8 session take test.
  Discharged if you pass.
  
  Otherwise 2nd phase RT(9-20 sessions), I think is thrice a week for 4 weeks(2 weekdays and 1 weekend), at the 16 sessions ,you will take the test again.
  Pass you will be discharged, if you fail ,you need to complete the 20 sessions(total 8 weeks).
  
  So after the 20 sesssions, you will be considered to have completed your obligation for the window before, but since you have not pass your IPPT during RT , you still need to book for IPPT for the new window.
  
  If you have passed your IPPT during the RT, it be will considered as you have passed your IPPT in the new window & even monetary award if you make the mark.
  
  For eg, at age 27th window, you have failed your IPPT after many tries, so you book for RT within 2 months after your 28th birthday, went for the RT, let's say you pass your RT's IPPT at the 16th sessions and be discharged. You are also considered to have pass your IPPT for your age 28th window.

  Does anyone think RT is useful? Can SAF provide any statistics in which how many percent passed IPPT because of RT? Can SAF justify the damage to the economy because of RT?
  
  It is no use if SAF keeps whining that it does not have people 'fit enough'. SAF is NEVER going to get conscripts 'fit enough' because the world outside the well demands a physically sedentary but mentally taxing lifestyle.
  
  SAF should formulate it's training and doctrine to match what the populace can provide.

  RT useless one lah, in BMT, i attend all the RT tat they enforce. No use at all. I rather train myself. Book in early at 3pm, 4 pm RT start. Do RT until 5.00pm. Den go for dinner n wait for ur other non RT platoon mate to book in. Waste so much time but actually only train for one hour. Only for wayang purpose as RT is recommended by OC of the company hence no choice lan lan have to show him...

  The first phase is conducted over 8 weeks. Twice a week for 8 weeks (1 weekday and 1 weekend). There are tests on the 8th and 16th sessions. The second phase is conducted over 4 weeks. Thrice a week for 4 weeks (2 weekdays and 1 weekend). There is a final test on the 28th session. If after you've gone through all 28 sessions and still haven't managed to pass, you can go. They can't do anything more to you. But of coz you have to take another test for the new workyear (by the next birthday).
  
  I have gone for two complete RT cycles and I believe the procedure hasn't changed.

  Take IPPT on the 1st day of the RT, if pass, you will discharge straight.
  
  If fail, than go for the phase 1. During this phase 1, if you only fail 1 station, you could opt for test at any time if you think are ready. So same, pass will discharge immediately & fail carry on the phase 1.
  
  At the end of phase 1, all shall go for test, pass shall out & fail shall carry on for phase 2. You shall discharge even if you fail the phase 2 test at the end of ph2 BUT you shall ready for another round RT again almost immediately, reason being is by the time you discharge the RT ph 2, new FY of IPPT is at your last date to be taken & if you could not make it in ph2 how could you make it in the new FY IPPT within few weeks.
  
  OH, some time even you fail ph1 & still discharge if too many person that need to attain RT & they do not have enough resources to cope with it.

  Can we defer RT if we have something on like night classe/work and is it subject to approval? Who shall we send the deferment letter to?

  Cannot escape. RT is now legally like ICT; your employer is required to release you for both under the Enlistment Act.
  
  Administratively, your NS unit is responsible for your RT. It'll book a progam slot for you if you didn't book one yourself, & will also access your application for deferment (medical chit, studies, etc.).
  
  If you're subsequently granted leave of absence, you must still do make-up training for each session missed, subject to a maximum of 2-3 depending on which RT Phase you're in. Any further missed sessions would render your existing RT program void, you being called back for investigations (maybe with disciplinary actions), & a new RT schedule rebooked for you.

  I recalled there will not be IPPT on the 1st day of RT anymore, IPPT will only be conducted at the end of the 4th, 6th and 8th week.
