Passing Out Parade

Can i check... usually before the Passing Out Parade for BMT, the recruits need to finish a 24km road march rite? So immediately after the road march the parade will commence?
Does that means the POP will be in the evening? Usually is ard what time for thise in tekong? coz i'm thinking whether need to take leave to attend a not... Thanks -

passing out parade means after the route march, the whole troop just faint(pass out)!

And parade think is ard after lunch....Quite crowded onez....take half-day off la.
Anyway if he invites u got time larz....haiz...dun worry -

nowadaes with more emphasis on welfare, this may no longer be the case. heard of cases where the route march and parade falls on different days, or route march followed by extended break then the parade. -

I was there as Coy 2IC when they first promulgated the 24km Route March before Graduation.
The senior commanders are particularly angtsy about calling it POP. We always had to refer to it as Recruit Graduation.
The first time we did the 24 km was as a Night March. We would start around 9pm... i think. Anyway, we marched at night and did a Dawn Parade. Quite a sight, i'll say.
Thereafter, the 24klicks were done in the day time and recs would march into the parade at evening.
Overall, i'll much prefer the night march. But logistically wise, it was always much easier to do the daytime than night.
That was 1998-2000... Not too sure how they do it nowadays. -

I'm quite tempted to quote this one-liner abt Passing Out Parades(which was heard coming out from the mouth of a particular frenz/PS then) but then I guess I'll give it a miss.. -

Basically they will take 2 hours every 4 clicks and 15 mins break in between.
So it should start near 2 or 3... -

around 5 plus 6 ...u can leave ...

yeah, start the march the night before POP, which usually will end around 4 in the morning. go for breakfast... lunch. there will be rest in the morning. parade starts around 3++ noon. saf core value 'care for soldiers'....
think it started on 2002, for last batch of bmt for that year
midnight march, shag n sleepy. don even know which part of tekong highway we were at, jus keep walking dude... guess recruits don get to bath at the well anymore? -
