Hope so, im begining to have this sorta paranoia after reading up on their arms purchases , maybe just 1 party should stop arming up like China and taiwan. War itself is unthinkable , so therefore both sides will exercise restraint,
so i don't think it will happen in the next 50 years.
All these are also what happened to Mr X during 6 day war and yom Kippur war,alot of stuffs to be learned , reading up on it lately , on how to foil attack
by both sides if cornered.
Last time , i tried out forward defense in red alert, worked quite well
anyone wanna know the results of forward defense in Strategy games like red alert 2 and Command and conquer? Hehe won't tell you all the result
but u all can try urself , alot of difference especially if u ATTACK first(pre-empt) and if you ATTACK later(after enemy lands).
Gotta learn about simultaneous deployment -

SAF all using computer simulation and somemore machines so expensive,
with 1 $50 command and conquer program ,
i just need to downsize my troops lets say singapore got 300,000
i make it 3,000 to represent it , enemy has 100,000 troops , i make it 1,000 troops , if singapore got 2000 tanks , i make a scale of 200.
artilery also make into etc etc..
with regards to AWACS , what i did was simple i did a terrain radar sensor within say 50km of my territory and had whole area scan.
That means if their planes and forces attack , i will know.
Experimented waiting for enemy to attack with the "warning alert"
then i reacted.
Some things might not be real in life for example , planes being so easily shot down and helicopters too , if i could modd it. Regarding deployment i used hovercraft to plant in tanks, a little slow though , wish can transport more and faster.
With regards to ships i used 25 gunboats , 6 missile destroys and 4 submarines and led a counter attack thru the mig airbase
hehe den as usual i used the helicopter against the
but leh IFV not really effective against armour , better against troops.
With regards to ENEMY ATTACKING FIRST
Enemy landed through boats ,and were around key locations , used guards deploy them around should they get into key areas
Enemy possess element of surprise and first strike , so civilians were lost and some airbases were breached.
I employed a strategy of by-passing key enemy installations and i managed to gather my forces at about 1km away , enemy is about 2 o clock , planes flew in by sea , go into the planned flight route , armed with missiles , did a few sorties on the main base , Finally ending with a thriple-pronged attack.
I kept on having reinforcements that kept on attacking , relentlessly ,
Firstly , the first one was anti-aircraft defenses which i had to counter ,
i used land units to destroy it and used my tanks to go through it , diverted planes away , then for about a few more strikes to come , i used the jet to
fire missiles at power plants and enemy tank factory , radar installation heavily guarded so i employed spies to infiltrate give us some time to build up.
For the main assault , i destroyed the HQ, enemy forces tried to retreat from other base after we destroyed the HQ, formed a key defense perimeter
after having the key defense perimeter, we were defending on enemy land.
Planes restock and attack the enemy forces returning, with reconeissance and anti tank support with choppers , after that after blowing up enemy hq and lauching such a tough bypassing operation and key goals achieved. i quickly rush hovercraft over and circled my planes around while my tanks board the craft and headed back.

What i did was simple, cause my units were tired and most of the tanks
were damaged, repairing of it takes quite some time , so i activate my reserve
troops to protect them, meanwhile doing aircrafts strikes
Navy in day 1 , i used mainly armoured hovercrafts to strike them
taking note that their navy aren't really built up.
So what i did was to equip myself with those Tomahawk kind of long range cruise missiles and escort them with subs and air cover again bypassing and with a longer ranger , i pounded them heavily with missiles.
Noting that resources and missiles are pretty scarced
i fired tomahawks at key installations again . Enemy fighters established contact and tried to intercept my fighter jets , thankfully with good anti aircraft defenses managed to shot down a few.
------------------------DAY 3--------------------------------------------------
Gathered all my stealth troops and special forces which requires alot of people to train , placed apaches and commanches together ,
stealth helicopters inside put with commandos which can blow buildings
Conduct night time bombing and evaded enemy radar installations.
The capital is heavily fortified (i know) so i used my commando to breach the area.
Fought a pretty heavy battle and enemy reinforcements arrived, was pretty shocked then , but commandos use hand equipped Dragon TOW launchers
and strike vehicles which was being carried Chinooks to destroy the armor,
the enemy tanks are arriving also from the further bases.
Immediately stormed parliament house and captured the key leaders
Airlift all out to a safe location , stormed key government residences and killed alot of the guards.
--------------------DAY 4--------------------------------------------------------
Enemy were launching a full force attack at us and were massing up at many locations, did a pre-emptive strike after spy plane spotted it, laid some booby traps while they were advancing, knew that my troops was injured in day 1 and commandos and air force and navy all fully used.
Enemy 50km away
I unleashed my armor corps including IFV,MBT and Artilery and rocket launchers , Artillery pounded key positions meanwhile aircraft cover it and the artilery is hidden under a ground with some camoflage.
Enemy navy , planning a counter attack launched surprise sub force from other side of where my naval bases were concerntrated, down some of my ships, had the Fokker-50 Aircraft to drop sonar buoys and destroy them using torpedos + depth charges
Leader-Held them hostage til they officially surrender
Enemy declared "War Over" , due to the capture of key leaders troop morale were down.
I took out a can of coke,and drank it..yummy!
--Sign treaty-- with the enemy forces and become friends again
Note No WMD IS used in this battle!
MY own PRE-EMPTIVE strike, that means enemy is not alerted,
strike factor and secret mobilisation.
Did not decided to go all out cause we might need to use resources if this war drags, but decided to unleash super heavy firepower to complement PRE_emptive.
Made a whole lot use of bombers like in pearl habor and C-130s with commandos , blasted enemy bases so they cannot fight back.
and approx 1 hour after blasting , we capture enemy aircraft by dropping in troops to block the enemy from using the airbase again , only focus on fighter airbase cause more worthy .
And lastly with the tanks left, i did the unthinkable, i rushed up with MBTs and IFVs through a hidden jungle and splited into 2 sections before reaching capital.
Fired a volley of cannons , packed with airstrikes to shock the enemy into surrender.
Patrolling enemy airspace , and make sure that their counter-air stuffs is weakened, while i lay a surprise ambush at their naval base , at their naval base , i secrely placed troops inside the ships and sailors were too scared when they saw my troops, held them and obtained other key information.
Used their ships to fight their own ships,
I HAVE NOT LOST in Any Red Alert 2 or Command and Conquer Generals Match Before! -
Oh my, and I was beginning to think armchair generals are bad....

And my friend you would be very wrong if you think red alert wld even be close to matching real life combat.
If you want a game with realism to play the close combat games.
In almost all RTS games out there the units almost never every miss and never run out of supply.Troops will fight to the end.....and each soldier carries 1 freaking weapon.....also camo doesnt work.Go figure -

And i don't believe that a thriple prong attack , if launched at the correct places at correct target, cannot bring a enemy down to it's knees!
Simulation is a utopia whereby war in the future will be done.
Potential Enemies will carry out a war inside the simulation
and only when the simulation is successful , then it will BE
powerful

Judging by overwhelming military power + intense modernisation in a few years time and most people think china is weak..
but china got over few hundred jets which can pose threat to F16 ..
they got license to BUILD SU-30 somemore and SU-27..
and somemore money..which russia doesn't have..

Btw the way i do agree with ur pt that most RTS game ( red alert and C n C ) do not include the basic constrain of supply,morale,accuracy and weather condition, simply state, it is jus the way it is meant to be : A Game :... the only thing it create is entertainment value... and alot of armchair experts....

or maybe a M-16. -

well.. simulation are just the possible scenarios that might happen... they are created with the aim in mind- to AID training... have you read abt the problems associated with simulation....?
Have you come into contact with SAF simulation..? ya at most ur NCC brings u to shoot some IMT... even that is a screw up software...
I dare to say i had enough NS experience to say that the simulation are different... very different... any man with experience will tell you this...
while u might have read up alot on military matters, while... they are all but thoeries from ur computer LCD screen.. you know nuts abt alot of things.. -

ok, ok.. guys.. lets not reveal certain things that we should not be on this forum...
1. On paper, thats the effective range,
2. in REALITY, only an idiot with either too much 5.56 will aim for such a distance with such weapons ( remember, M16 and S.A.W is only small arms )
or the person have no intention to hit the target...
3.in Red ALert or C n C, maybe u can.i dunno
4. At 1KM range, using small arms to hit target... can... most likely to spend 200 rds to hit...
U are far too deep into ur virtual world... separate the facts from the hypothetical assumptions. U are gg to suffer during ACTUAL REAL LIFE military. Word of advice, return ur feet to ground, else u will only be a target 11 for ur platoon mates and instructors in BMT..

What the boy doesn't realise is that there is a HUGE difference playing realistic games like Full Spectrum Warrior & America's Army, compared to his kiddy Counter Strike & Red Alert.
