I've just went thru all the interview and medical... The whole process is about 6 months.. the longest is the medical... took over 2 months!
Now the SAF career centre is just waiting for me to pass my ippt with combat silver then i can sign the contract for training!
But what the hell! I just missed the 2.4 timing by 15 secs! Furthermore, my window is going to close soon! Argh!!!! I WANT TO FLY!!!! -

arLoes... just received my enlistment letter, posted to pulau tekong !! argh.. but anw, i passed the all the pilot testings other than the medical and the interview.. so .. just wanna know my odds. so not to have false hopes ??

o-lua, you stand a substantial chance of making it into the pilot course if you manage to clear your interview and medical as well. I assume you've passed the CPSS test, so that's good. Impress the RSAF Board during your interview, and then pray hard for the medical. For the interview, remember that those dudes want confident pilots flying their aircraft...confident,....not cocky. Show them how much u'd love to fly and they shud accept you.Prior knowledge about the RSAF and its squadrons will impress them even more. For the medical, there's not much you can do about it...the RSAF MOs will be examining every inch of your body to see if you're able to fit in that cockpit, so pray that u have good genes and that you meet their stringent requirements. If all goes well, you should be on the next AGC batch to Tamworth by mid of next year, and flying CT-4Bs for your 1st phase of pilot training.
Did u attend the RSAF Pilot Seminar at Suntec City on the 2nd of Oct ? If you did then i think u shud be clear of the route u'll be takin.

hmm.. no.. coz i forgot to register for it.. :X was studying then.. even now.. argh.. anw, i'm quite worried abt the interview. to say the truth, becoming a pilot never came across my mind. till the letter for cpss.. then i began to have interest in it.. i think now i really really yearn to be one.. hahaz.

They practice take off / landing, take off / landing.
Because after take off, they have to start landing leow.

That's part of the idea. As a pilot, you must be able to take pressure, coz every flight in training is an assessment, and mistakes can be fatal.Originally posted by nckai:Aw man... so many of em? Pressure leh...

If you are in for the prospect, think again, unless you are a scholar with the SAF
If you love flying, consider it.
But also note that there are lots of RSAF pilots who wish to join SIA and lots of airline pilots who wish they are flying just for leisure. -

we've got training areas to practice tactics and such. No doubt our airspace is small, we only use it to take off and land. All the rest of the missions are done away from populace. -
ahbuden..in singapore mainland got no space for you to fly..
heard that if u want fly over singapore mainland u need to do so below a certain speed and higher than a certain height..is that true? -
yah, for noise abatement, to minimise people calling in and complaining the jets make to much noise.
some people just don't understand... -
and chopper sorties are different from fighter jet sorties

Hi guys, fortunately, I managed to clear my interview and the medical. I've also signed the contract, which means now I only need to get into OCS in order to be a pilot trainee. Will RSAF help you by slotting you into OCS?

raz, the ct-4Bs you mentioned, are they the same breed as the YFC's CT-4E? i don't know if i can get to fly the CT-4E cos my physical size is quite small for it...

The cockpit of the CT-4E is pretty spacious. PM me if you wanna have a look at it.
