eh are there really ak-47 in singapore ?? heard from my fren it makes no sense to import them .. the main advantage of ak-47 is its cheapness .. but as importing them would cause quite a bit of money ....Originally posted by Joshua1975:There are some other which I can not get the pic.![]()
Topic say 'some of us' and it 47 and not 74... just to make clear.Originally posted by BeEtHoVeN:eh are there really ak-47 in singapore ?? heard from my fren it makes no sense to import them .. the main advantage of ak-47 is its cheapness .. but as importing them would cause quite a bit of money ....![]()

oic take from street, it not aux weaponOriginally posted by palmerised:i mean, let's say you were to conduct ops anywhere.. aside from your MAIN rifle( in this case, the sar-21, m-16 or m4) you could use an ak 'taken off the street' as your first weapon used in any engagement.
Maybe we should separate the men from the boys stuck on level 19 of games like Counter-strike, Battlefield Vietnam, Desert Combat, or Black Hawk etc.Originally posted by fkh:We use all of them, not in real life, but in computer games, like Counter-strike, Battlefield Vietnam, Desert Combat, Black Hawk Down.
Yes, AK-47 is cheap and deadly. It is cheap due to weak Russian Roubles, it is expensive due to stringent laws on the import of firearms..
well you do have a point..Originally posted by baer:Maybe we should separate the men from the boys stuck on level 19 of games like Counter-strike, Battlefield Vietnam, Desert Combat, or Black Hawk etc.
anyway
RULE 1
NEVER pick up a weapon "off the street" to use. (i) it could be booby trapped, either by pressure release trigger device or modified for round to explode in the chamber, (ii) you may not be able to operate the weapon safely without familization (why we may import samples for certain ppl).
RULE 2
more importantly no ammo. Even if the AK47 is 7.62, it is not the same as the NATO round use for GPMG.
What you may need to update is that the AK-47 has been superceeded by the 5.45mm AK-74 which is less common in these parts of the world. Another post is right to say that we should think in terms of Styer and FN. etc.
right... pick ammo off dead bodies... indeed...Originally posted by palmerised:well you do have a point..![]()
ummm...actually not quite true. the AK 47 can actually fire NATO round, but it has to be chambered individually by the soldier, without the magazine. thus, the shooter has to pull back the bolt, chamber a NATO 7.62 round, and then fire it, after which he has to pull back the bolt again to extract the cartridge and rechamber another round....its more for survival should a soldier run outta ammo....Originally posted by baer:Maybe we should separate the men from the boys stuck on level 19 of games like Counter-strike, Battlefield Vietnam, Desert Combat, or Black Hawk etc.

Originally posted by CX:AK was never big on accuracy to begin with... but does anyone realise that even if u picked an AK off the streets, how are u gonna find 7.62 "shorts" when everyone else is using 5.56 ???
nah it's not cheap becuz of the way it's made.....it's made with cheap engineering processes....and the reason you dont gotta zero it is well..it's made so cheaply the sight aint worth nuts anyway ahah u zero also no useOriginally posted by fkh:We use all of them, not in real life, but in computer games, like Counter-strike, Battlefield Vietnam, Desert Combat, Black Hawk Down.
