what's the difference between the M4 and carbine? -
Carbine,the one used by SAF has no forward assist.Its actually a CAR-15,the model before the M4.And the M4 has a longer barrel and has strenghtened heat shield handguards.

Out of the whole company armskote, we had this lone (original made in the USA) M4 sitting among our SAF Carbines. Close examination reveals only a difference in the flash suppressor and length of the barrel. The other features are basically the same.

the m4 is a fine weapon but i prefer the hkm4.. basically an m4 but a few changes made to it.. made by hk.
