Advice needed on joining Navy as NSS

  hi guys, i'm currently serving my ns in 2 sir. previously i was directly enlisted to INTO, but i could not pass my basic fire fighting course due to asthma history, so got posted to army. Today i went down to the navy recruitment centre as im interested in being a naval systems specialist. on the leaflet theres a post called electrical weapons tech, and another called OEW, if im not wrong. whats the difference? and any pointers for signing on with the navy as NSS? any advice will be appreciated thanks.....

  You better be able to swim. Don't think a cushy job on board a ship dun require such skills. If the unfortunate does happen, you may just end up like one of the four servicewomen we lost in the Courageous incident.

  when i was in into/bmtc i passed my cat 2 awimming test but cefore could get cat 1 got posted out already...and nss cushy meh? i thought its quite demanding...

  hmmm....I think you still need to go for the basic fire fighting course and subsequently the advance fire fighting course.

  WET, Weapon electrical technician
  OEW, Ordnance and electrical weapon Specialist
  
  WET is mainly do electrical in the ships..doesn't have combat phase is all tech phase...
  
  OEW is the gunners...Combat Tech...

  but they are still regarded as Combat Tech and receive the same salary...
