With poor range & avionics as compare to other western a/c, it is quite useless except with it's HMS in short range engagement.
But since our F-5s as well as F-16s both with HMS , and able to use Python 4 and AIM-120, the Mig-29 will be a turkey shot for RSAF!!!
By now the airframe should be near to the end of their lifetime(2.5~ 4k Hrs only), so is time for upgrade, this time the Russian will demand more cash again!!!
So with Russian sucker every drop of blood of MY with maintenanace and upgrade, the lifetime cost of owing 17 Mig-29s ( with 50% availability )might even be higher than owing the 8 F/A-18!!!Just like SAF got unpublished purchases, they also have..scarly their F/A-18 much more then 8 ...but they learn from sun zi..never to disclose your real units..

What constitute what is a Tank and what's not is not by the chassis that the armoured vehicle is built on. Rather, it is what the armoured vehicle is built for, the purpose of the vehicle. Armoured vehicles can be classified into tanks, IFV / AFV and many other types... Dun assume all armoured vehicles to be a tank. A tank is very different from IFV / AFV ..
