The only amphibous capability i know of is the assault boat + CH. And our IAB !!!
We could set up a really really long IAB across the causeway, then order a bn of soldiers to run across. Then count how many make it across w/o falling. 
Yes, this is irrevalent, but so is half of this thread.
No need IAB, got something better that can easily bring you all across without getting wet and faster than your running

How bad was it? Really bad.. in three day ex, maybe slept 2 hours in first 48hrs then had to play enemy doing coastal assault on prepared positions.
In our unit, CO orders are simple "dig if you want to live", ended with best NS unit award. CO got his second crab, kicked upstairs and we had to spend another 24 hours to pull out of ex area, clean 8 x 3 tonners load of equipment with our 27 men pnr plantoon. -

1. Never once did i express doubts about Singapore's Military Capability
i only expressed concerns.
2. It is true that C-4 is the most conventionally used bomb ,
even in USS Cole bombing and the blowing up of buildings
3. Never once did i offend the Republic of Singapore by insulting
the President or the Government, i only gave suggestions.
4. I only expressed wishes for the government for the procurement
of amphibious hovercraft to be retrofitted and refurbished
with Oto melera guns and mistral missiles
5. All the posts which i posted in military sgforums is for the good
of all singaporeans.
6. Nevertheless, i did not accuse any race or spur any religious
hatred.
7. If i sucks that much , you can choose not to read my post.

Well, pre NS enlistee, Thank you for your willingness to lay down your life for Singapore should the need arises... but do take note that it is being said WITHOUT any REAL military experience but from info from books, forums, net and hear say from frens you may be the scholar type of student.. but now you are jus a chairman "expert"...... After u had ur military experience, then u decide if u still want to lay ur life for singapore... ( Well on my part, and the rest of those who had, and those still serving, we remember our SAF pledge, not forgetting our Specialists' and Officers' Creed....

Its easy to open your mouth and say this say that... but are you aware of the implications it will bring...? and the economical,political ,practical implications ,feasibility of introducing certain defence equipment into the region...?? well asking MINDEF bring in the defence equipments you saw on internet, books, computer games is not as easy as asking daddy for $$ to buy the latest computer and games....
National Defence is more than reading stuff off the net, books, forum and asking ur govt to implement them, it is definitely more than keeping an invicible army on ur land

1stly , They are plagued by their own elections problems , our dear frens
in the south and if they lose, they become a civilian
and if u have any idea how many operational F-16 they got
its lesser then 10, and if u know how many christian v muslim
riots and in Aceh and the problem they facing with australian
you should be more grateful. To the southern pple , they are more
concerned about australians purchasing long range missile
as for singapore being a threat to them , i don't think so,
as ive said before they look upon us as a little red dot and
they like to look down on us, well , let it be.
2ndly, Indonesia and Australia diplomatic relations had previously alot of
problems and they are concerned about Abu Bakar , small provinces
trying to split away etc.
3rdly , Nevertheless, we should not let our guard down , and not to forget
their forces are widely stretched around their country , and
Australia itself , has quite a powerful military comparable to SG's
4th , Don't forget confrontasi though =) , and good diplomatic relations

A nuke would seem a very good option , say if enemy launch surprise attack into woodlands and land in changi from shore based LST and amphibious landing
Then ICBM launch towards the hostile country , this is only for countries whose strike range is beyond our RSAF,RSN,SAF reach (forward defense unapplicable) -
Oh yes, go for a nuke by all means. Get our country warned for possessing WMD. Increse the tension of our neighbouring countries such they they try to obtain nukes too. If Singapore gets Attacked by China, and SG gets bombed and most of the planes get downed while trying to do forward defense, the forward defense works for 4 days..den collapse..enemy forces trying to enter into SG.
Press the button and the icbm goes up to their major city.
The ICBM was intended for long distance aggressor to assume northern and southern neighbours would only attack us is plain naiveness. -

Components can be disassembled yes but the parts are all controlled and most are monitored by the CIA.
