helloo... just received my 1st SAF 100 (ICT training)....
and i going to ATC Sungei Gedong camp.... ask those "Senior Citizen".... ATC means what?? 
and doing my 5 days stay doing what stuff... and is it all ICT die die must bring fullpack... SBO... HELMET ??..... the standard items.... 
Before this, i was called for a open mob ... but is in CCK camp... how come now go to Sungei Gedong ??....
Pls enlighten me....

Of course there is IPPT too.Maybe the Sar21 conversion course if you haven done it.

I was ITD instructor during NSF, now 2PDF as Inf Pioneer Sect Cmdr, conversion was 3.5 weeks. Pack lots of stuff if you can, maybe no bookout till weekend.

If you continue as a RP, I think you'll come under the RSM group. If so, it's a combat appointment but "luckily" he should have a vehicle, so field training's gonna be hectic but not humdrum-siong like infantry.
At least that's what the RP's do in my Arty (not Armour) BN, when a lot of them were posted in "blur" from other vocations/formations too. Don't recall them attending any conversion course either, certainly not together with the ICT schedule - they inprocessed together with the main body.
Also, you didn't clarify this, but I think you could be joining a reservist unit in the midst of their training cycle too. In other words, they may be old birds to some degree compared to your newbie status. One of my outfit's RPs faced such a situation with us - I believe he was an ammo technician or something when "active", & was 6-7 years younger than the rest of us - but fortunately the RPs took him under their wing & he learnt very quickly.
Yes, pack all your combat gear in the fullpack, plus your toiletries & personal stuff in a small civilian bag. -

FWIW That 5-day ICT inference was what tipped me off; IMO it's a bit unusual for a newly-ORD outfit to begin its reservist cycle with a low-key stint. My own 1st call-up was for 28 days!
Can no longer recall how a SAR unit operates in the field, or even whether their RSM uses a tracked vehicle or a more regular wheeled truck. If it's the latter, & if's anything like the Arty version, then I'll say you're in for a good time. With us, the RSM group tends to get a lot of autonomy as they basically oversee the unit's convoy movement, in which case there'll be plenty of opportunities to sneak out for tea breaks, meals, even "tactical" sleeping areas for the night! -

It'll be siong - SAR units traditionally uses boxing for PT, for goodness sake! ~lol~ - but IMO not super-siong like regular 10 km treks for infantrymen.
Never a dull moment though. The formation tends to be very mobile in the field, 24-hour ready & lotsa movement throughout the night if called for (they're considered frontline soldiers). Aside from the sweat, you'll also likely be exposed to the infamous Sungei Gedong soil - plain mud on a wet day, red dust on a dry one - which will cling onto your No 4 non-stop.
Wear the dirty uniform/faces like a badge of honor ~lol~ but prepare/bring plenty powder &/or calamite lotion in case rash breaks out ....
