Lets say a major military power wants to annex singapore so as to control the major sea lanes of malacca straits..

Anyway in the current state of affairs, SG is not in direct threat of a major military power for 50 years , unless the new indonesian president take steps
to make sure that corruption stops..
and get a higher GDP from the population..
Anyway power projection is impossible unless we buy a aircraft carrier..

can singapore navy gprce fair good with the japanese battleship, far-range harpoon missile can hardly scratch the battleship thick amro and we be blasted before we could use torpedoes onboard our MCVs by their 16-inch guns and we did not have the armor thick enough to prorect against...also we hardly had time to built any more big ships to counter the naval threat if we got teleported into 1942 when the japanese are cosing in. Aircraft my do it but they still need to defend our sky

the reason anti-ship missile can be so powerful is that nowadys the ships armor are weak and missile penetrate easily, battleship are designed to protect against anything that hit them from the surface like shells from other 12inch+ gun- vessels. we do not have that kind on shells on any ship, also, we did not have enough torpedoes to fair our small navy compared to japanese 600+ ships. We also only have four subs with us which can't really sink so many enemy vessels.
