I dun recall it being put in storage. It was involved in an amphibious excercise *i cant recall the name on 1st August 2003, last year.Originally posted by fett:went to AOH '04. saw this AMX10 there. wonder why they put it on show after so many years in storage?

It is rather sensitive lah due to it's amphibious nature, even the tankee dun want to answer some of my questions but if memory serve me right, i dun remember it being stored up. Anyway, i still a student so.... however im rather sure that the AMX-10P is active all the while.Originally posted by fett:hmmm. wasn't from armour so won't know. but it was never this public, right?

Thats all I can revealed.![]()
The AMX-10P is to support the 21st Division which consist mainly of 3 brigades of Guardsmen. As you know the guardmen are train in both heli-deployment and amphibous operation, the AMX-10P is to support the latter operation. Try asking them their operation tactics, they will kindly shoo you off.Originally posted by fett:the guards have LSVs. i reckon it can work in both strike/reconnaissance roles.
the AMX 10, as i see it is a heavily armed recce armour vehicle, with x troopers in it. wonder where AMX 10 fit in it?
just musing, don't really need an answer.
Indonesia Bought the AMX 10 series first followed by our SAF.Main reason for doing so:to study the capabilities of the AMX 10.Hence after evaluting the AMX,we operate a small numbers. But this AMX 10 will retired soon.Too much problems...Originally posted by tvdog:I'm an infantry reservist with a keen interest in armour and I didn't even know about the AMX-10 until recently.
Yes, its amphibious nature makes it a sensitive issue for our neighbours. Not very defensive in nature, is it?
It might spark another arms race whereby poor Malaysia may also be forced to look into buying some amphibious tanks etc.
But apparently the AMX-10 is rather crap. Indonesia operates the same version as us.
and some Swedish CV90Got to be kidding!!! Guess we are going in the right directions, Light but heavy puch.

But then CIS apparently produces some kind of modern ammo for our small 75mm gun, so...
Highly classified siaz, so highly classified they even put it on a display case for all to see, with description.Originally posted by Manager433:Our AMX 13 SM-1 also use a highly classified 75mm armor piecing round, the same used by M1 A-1 but this is a 75mm shell.
For ur information, they do not put all their tricks on display. I wont be surprise if there are other rounds available in Sungei Gedong.Originally posted by ditzy:Highly classified siaz, so highly classified they even put it on a display case for all to see, with description.![]()
