the bismark wasnt the flag ship of the german navy.....heck i dont think they had 1.....a flag ship is the lead ship of a fleet.....the germans in ww2 dint have fleets i believe.Originally posted by ray243:which is the flagship of singapore navy or symbol of it. The USA had nimtz class carriers while other countries also have famous ships throughout their navy history like japan yamato, german bismarck, british prince of wales and so on, so...which is the ship reprsenting singapore navy?
haha but this thread says flagship/SYMBOL wadOriginally posted by esesce:None of our ships are called TEO CHEE HEAN.![]()
a nice little building in a naval baseOriginally posted by ray243:ok...then which is currently the flagship of our first flotilla commander
The flag ship is the command and control ship, for singapore it will alway be one of the LST. Because as flag ship to control the fleet, you need a room with console for a few operators monitoring the battle and commanders to discuss and give instructions. Only at this moment the LST have the space. But next time with the new frigate, that may change.Originally posted by ray243:which is the flagship of singapore navy or symbol of it. Don't under estimate the defense of our LST, the defense of it is not anything less than that of the missile covertte. It have guns, anti-air / anti-missile missile system, anti-missile guns.Originally posted by AkiraDen:
Although the have used the LST as a command ship, they won't label is as a flagship. It is embarrassing.
It got no good self defence system. One missile and it's gone. They rather label the frigate.
And no offence, but they should NEVER put a women on the helm.
Did'nt anybody noticed? They are quite bad at directions.
mmm..anyone wonder why they did not install CIWS on the LSTs?Originally posted by AkiraDen:

slight nitpick...but the HMS Prince of Wales did fire many shots and had in fact exchanged fire with the Brismarck during the same engagement in which the British flagship HMS Hood was sunkOriginally posted by sgFish:haha but this thread says flagship/SYMBOL wad
yeah the germans din have fleets back then..and the bismarck was famous for sinking the Hood and getting blown up after that. the yamato did not get to fire a single shot, and neither did the Prince of Wales i think...
oh yeah..it managed to fire off one salvo before pulling out..i forgotOriginally posted by SlowPoke:slight nitpick...but the HMS Prince of Wales did fire many shots and had in fact exchanged fire with the Brismarck during the same engagement in which the British flagship HMS Hood was sunk
Think we should purchase 1 super huge destroyer with missiles
and call it RSS LKY.
What wrong with a woman on the helm ? there are good one and the bad one ! If you refering to that patrol boat incident, the blame is on the superivor officer ( happen to be a man ) for not taking over command when he should, when the trainee make mistake if not why she is trainee. You are right, looking at the way the ship zig-zag, they must be shouting
it's port and starboard out at sea my friend....Originally posted by AkiraDen:You are right, looking at the way the ship zig-zag, they must be shouting
trainee"Left,right?",
superivor officer "Right"
trainee " Right or left?"
superivor officer" left"
trainee ""Left,right?",
superivor officer "Right"
trainee " Right or left?"
At this point, it is is fault as a superivor officer not to act. He should have pulled out his pistol and shot her.
And your experience have proved me right. They are good at training people, telling people what to do.
Wonder why SAF put most of them there?
woohoo. this is one cool idea manOriginally posted by SibeiSuayKia:6. Merdeka room (whereby sailors will go in and shout merdeka)
Yes if that type of conversion was ever allow to happen, that officer may as well pull pistol and shoot himself 1st.Originally posted by AkiraDen:You are right, looking at the way the ship zig-zag, they must be shouting
