transport supervisor is like a driver, except you plan the men, the vehicles...
kinda like, the section commanders of the logistics side -
okay...i was abt to sign up for it thru recruitment talk i've awarded e contract...i nsf btw...any advice frm anyone here?

I am an NSF Transport Supervisor at a camp in Jurong.Being a transport supervisor mentally and physically stress you out if you are just a NSF. Why?
Because you have to plan your men daily for their details.
Not only that. You have to settle commercial buses indents, commercial cars indents and orientation. Its practically a man show running the MT Line. Its only you. The regulars are mainly there to fill up the spaces.
MT SGT. What does he do? Signs some documents, drink kopi, talk cock everywhere. Kaoz...
Being a transport supervisor, you also have to go on details. Speaking from real life experience, i am very very tired. I have duty tomorrow and on Tuesday. And maybe some details i have to go. Very very very tiring. It's already stretching my limits. Seriously.
Think twice of your decision and weigh out your pros and cons carefully. -
I suggest you sign as supply supervisor instead. At least next time if you choose to leave SAF, can find job outside as logistics supervisor. If you sign on as transport sup, if you leave SAF I think quite hard to find job based on your SAF experience.

Basically everyday lecture for the 4 mths, some practical on stock taking. A lot of theories n forms eg 1211, 1206 etc. 2 units attachment, n also a lot of weitten tests n paractical tests. The tests all no need to study one as the instructors will drop hint on the day of the test if u dunno. Beside tat, i attach to OCS n PLC for the so call On Job Training. Nv learn anything n dun prepare to learn anything regarding supply. Juz mentally prepare for sai kang, S H I T job. Toward the last part of there is this 3 days 2 nites field camp, camou on, SBO n rifle. Never did anything, juz vehicle topo, lecture outfield n a lot of bo liao SAF things...
If u kena CQMS, gd luck to u as its the least respected despite u have a 3rd sgt rank.

After BNT you will be Private. After you have finished your supply sup course, you should get promoted to CPL. About a year later you should get your 3SG. Of course it all depends lah. Condemned cases naturally get promoted slower.

Shall not mention my training as a Supply NCO (used to be called as) as it was donkey years ago.
Everyone has a role to play and you may think that you are nothing when compared against the section commanders or PS. Being a CQMS is one hella of a job, as he has to cater to everyone's needs, from PE eqpt to bedding to makan.
I was lucky to be selected to stay back as an instructor after my course. Did not taste CQMS life in unit. I then got to know what it is like when I am posted to a infantry BN QM platoon after I ORD and working with the various CQs in my unit. I even was the SP CQ when I went for make-up training in another unit.
Now that I have assumed the role of RQ in my unit, I take on the larger responsilbility of providing for the entire BN. If you do your job and take pride in it, you will earn the respect you deserved.
