Things can/cannot bring

Jus wondering if small MP3 player and palm top can bring in? I know charger cant bring in to Camp rite?? Or anyone has a list?? of allowed and prohibited items?

MP3 player can lah, palm top, abit wei hiam. But then again, can lah. Just remember to take care of it. Things get lost, dun accuse ppl steal this steal that. Otherwise before book out, go parade square, "everything out! everything in!".

No, Palms/Pocket PCs are NOT allowed in SAF camps unless prior approval has been sought, otherwise known as an Letter of Authority (LOA) as these are classifed as storage devices. In this group would include thumb drives, CD-burners, camera phones, video cameras,laptops, so on and so forth and if they want to be *REALLY* fussy, MP3 players (tho' it would be unlikely).
Way around this? Wait till you are posted to your unit and apply for an LOA which has to be recommended by your immediate superior (OC/PSOs/Br Hds) and signed by your Comd/CO. Depending on your vocation/appt, you can throw smoke and say you need your palm to organise your activities *blah**blah**blah* Oh yes, the form for this LOA can be found in the GOM, check with your chief clerk.

need to declare ur palm top, else found with it, they gonna confiscate it..
But I dun advise u to bring a palm top or any electronic gadgets
best bring discman or fm receiver.. -

im not sure where u get the info from abt palm top???
i just finish my 3rd ICT n done a few days of security ops duty..Palm Top n Pocket PC is a no no in all SAF camp n bases..
that include CD-R, thumb drive n anything u can store info with...
n regarding storing of info..if its really wat MINDEF have said..they are really slapping themselve on the face..
if we allow all those gadget mention above to be allow in the camp or base...how are we gona know wat info they are storing???

What you are allowed to bring , is up to your Coy commander.
For instance, my particular batch could not bring any outside food in, nor any discmans/walkmans. Additionally, there was a time when no ciggerates, or handphones were allowed too.
Our Sergeant Major was a health freak who forbide any titbits of any sort. No sweet, cola, or whatver.
It is advised to NOT bring anything your not supposed to. When you are a Recruit, every one else is higher than you. If you bring in, never found, you lucky. If not, you may get charge or have to burn your weekend. -
When u r a rec, a lot of things u cannot do/ bring. Rem that. U r worst than a dog in there! (even dogs in tekong can walk any where they like w out permission)
Still rem my days in tekong my platoon all e specs n e pc r non smokers. So all e smokers in my platoon dam suay. Very little smoking break, gt a period my platoon even hve smoking ban. So u c platoon 1, 3 n 4 recs got to smoke except platoon 2. All e cigarettes in my platoon hve to surrender to e pc, n they even held a stand by bed/toilet to check 4 any cigarettes that r hidden in e bunk/ toilet. Recs in e other 3 platoons r warned not 2 gve any cigarettes to anyone in my platoon.
As i m in section 4, dam heng, cse my section gt less smokers compared to sections 1 n 2. After that we were told to fall in, when I ran pass section 1 n 2 bunks, I could c their mattress r all being overturned, n their cupboards stuff being thrown onto the floor. All these just to check for hidden cigarettes!!! wtf! -

Smoking is the "great motivation". All right, those who complete the task before XX H, got extra smoking break! U will see the Recruit move like the Flash!
Our coy had many adventure with ciggerates. We had many die-hard smoker, who die-die, kana charge still must smoke. The best winner is our Coy blur-toot, who during the duration of our handphone ban, was caught smoking and chatting on the handphone just before reveille. He got tekan until siao.
The lagi bestest time is when our consolidated ciggerate stock, a whole rubbish bag ful, was LOST after our first range. -
We oso hve food ban once, where all our cup noodles, biscuits, etc being consolidated into a big trash bag. Than e bag being kept @ e platoon office. Later when we went to collect the bag after 1 wk, 1 full bag become half bag liao.
