My platoon got this guy who was the most fittest in service term. He was a CLT before. Numerous badges during his NCC days. NCC Best Cadet and CLT of the Year. Did 33 pull ups in a minute. 7 minutes for 2.4km. 60 sit ups in a minute. 265cm for SBJ. Very fit guy but OOC during his 2nd week of Service Term. Why? He got knocked down by a car while doing a stunt to impress his friends and his shin was kinda shattered. Morale?

but having said that it will be folly for an ncc cadet to think that, having a headstart, he is well ahead of his peers. that is one thing ncc cannot change - one's character and mindset. if one thing, having no prior knowledge may end up being advantageous compared to having some. -
if u get airbrone during NCC, yes u can put it on when u enlist for BMT.
BUT!
i'll advise u not to put it on because in BMT, every1 is taught that they are equal, every1 is botak and is a REC. what for u put on a airbrone badge to distinguish yourself?
people might starts to think u are a showoff when even your PS, PC or OC don't even have any badges.
so it's better to put on bagdes after POP when u get posted to a unit. -
Yeah.Blending in is better than the "privileges" you get if you display it with too much pride.Heh.

aniwae will the NCC records be reflected in SAF? i mean if it is not.. den ani1 can go army market to buy a airborne badge and wear it sayin that he haf done airborne in NCC.
Also, will the army noe that i was from NCC last time (my rank , ourses etc)??? Is there some kind of record between SAF and NCC???? -

NCC is Singapore's equivalent of Hitler's Youth (Hitlerjugend). The main purpose of NCC is psychological, to make you loyal to your country.... The military advantage you have over non-NCC guys are in the army is negligible...
Why you wanna let ppl know you NCC bigshot and give yourself unnecessary stress in BMT? You'll b unduly pressurised to do well in everything... Be meek, my friend, even if you know everything... help those who are weaker and naturally you'll emerge a leader without having to shout it from the rooftop...

BTW, ever wonder why the best operators in the world wear unidentifiable uniforms during ops? Keep a low profile so you can get the job done, not to pose for photographs! Flashy badges belonged to Army Open House, not in the field...

No need to be so cynical, lah. Yes, cadet corps can be paramilitary but, in the Nazi version, they're primarily controlled by a political party.
IMO The closest Singapore context would be the People's Association, if they ever adopt a miltary culture ... j/k -

You are a CLT in the NCC.
Do you enter BMT and get to be the platoon commander?
No.
Whatever you go through in NCC, the SAF is twice or even three times tougher.
Besides i can assure you that you will not want to attract undue attention to yourself after the first 2 weeks of BMT. So please do not make yourself stand out anymore than you want to.
