Singapore should send troops overseas to fight battles

NCC is NCC.... ARMY is ARMY!... ive trained may a sispec trainee during my sispec years and met so-called "superior" ncc soldiers who are "enthusiastic" about combat... sent them on a fighting patrol as trainee sect commander they got so lost until i got to navigate myself. i ve seen many of these type loudmouth who boast around having extra knowledge. being in NCC myself the only thing i find useful in about NCC in SAF is... Tying bootlace, fold smart four, do simple drills and M16 tech handling.

anyway my focus here on the topic here, singapore should contribute men to overseas missions, yes, some men may get screw up but overally it will benefit our army long term, if an battle-hardened adversary faces SAF soldier, it will be strictly Pro vs noob anway, to quote the words of the British army facing Japs in the in the Malayan campaign -

Don't talk about the fact that Libya is a desert kingdom far away. Assuming Libya is just next door and SAF KNOWS how to fight in the desert.
Do you think SAF can just "overthrow" anyone? Are we that good?
I hope no one else here thinks the SAF is such a formidable fighting force. I worry because most of the time I distinctly get the impression on forums that most Singaporeans think SAF is the best etc... and we are so damn cocky about it.
We are all frogs in the proverbial well. The only military force we REALLY know is SAF. We look at all our modern weaponry and begin to feel invincible.
What we forget is that we have ABSOLUTELY no battle experience as an organisation. We haven't crossed swords with anyone yet. SAF hasn't fired a shot in anger for almost 40 years!!!
Weaponry helps you win, but doesn't guarantee it. Mighty America lost to primitive adversaries TWICE in the 20th century: first to China in Korea, and then to a peasant army in Vietnam. So did the Russians in Afghanistan.
So dear Caesar, don't get over-confident OK? We may not be able to defeat even the poorest countries in Asia like Laos, Cambodia, Philippines or even the murderous Indonesians. Furthermore if we go into battle overconfident we would very quickly lose morale when the quick victory doesn't arrive and we cannot handle setbacks. -
