SINGAPORE: A container ship sailing through Singapore's waters has struck a large navy ship and collided with an oil tanker.
No one was injured in the incident in the early hours of Wednesday.

No oil spill has also been reported in the collision which took place about 40 nautical miles east of Singapore.
This is the second time in two years that a Singapore navy vessel has been involved in a collision at sea.
Preliminary reports indicate the Liberian-registered container ship Merkur Bridge was overtaking the navy ship RSS Persistence when it collided with the oil tanker High Endurance.
As it drew alongside the navy ship, Merkur Bridge suddenly altered course to avoid the oncoming High Endurance.
But the container vessel struck the navy ship and then collided with the oil tanker.
The oil tanker's engine room caught fire and a small hole was torn in its hull above the water line.
The High Endurance then radioed for assistance.
The RSS Persistence, which sustained minor scratches, and several other Navy patrol vessels responded immediately.
The RSS Persistence was heading to Australia for a routine deployment, but was forced to turn back after the incident.
The RSS Persistence is a locally-built landing ship tank which is used to transport personnel and equipment.
It measures 141 metres from bow to stern - 20 metres longer than most football fields.
The Maritime and Port Authority is investigating the collision but says that traffic through the Singapore Strait has not been affected.
Maritime authorities have, however, issued navigational warnings advising passing ships to sail clear and to navigate with caution. - CNA

That's precisely what I am saying- Singapore got to be very sensitive to Malaysia. The 'I don't care' attitude exhibited by Sngaporeans is not helpful to relations with Malaysia.

Comparing the actions of both governments:
1) Our government NEVER suggested WAR in any disputes.
2) Our government kept our F16s overseas (when it was first purchased) to prevent any bad feeling or trigger arms race.
3) Despite the ongoing water dispute, we still sent help to fix that burst pipe when it was non of our business and furthermore, wasn't even asked to.
4) We never interferred with the running of our neighbour's affairs and yet we often find them interferring with ours.
Case in hand, XXX government complains about lack of high-ranking M.... officers in SAF holding key roles.
If that is considered sensitive, I'd say our government is doing well being real gentle. -
this isn't really a navy accident is it...one cargo ship steered into the Persistence while trying to evade another..in the end it bang both...power...

and 1 day no matter now or later still going to fly back.
the water pipe sending water back of course must repair lar..
if we let high-ranking pple do the key roles like UAV and stuffs ar..
ask u lar..ALOT OF HIGH RISKS involved.
National security and existence of the state at risk as well.
Look at m'sia instead, would they let a chi handle armed forces?

I think Singapore care alot while dealing with cross country ties, so much so, our ministers went over more frequent than the other way round. However if you guys dun appreciate, what can we do?
Btw, the RMN have no rights to enter Branca's water before any official statement from the International court that Branca belong to malaysia. That water still legitimately Singapore's. -
