You "beg to disagree"? LMFAO. Wah lau, so bombastic ah?Originally posted by crosshairs:On the ball? I beg to disagree. A good soldier will ALWAYS remember to treat a weapon just as what it is, a weapon. He will NEVER hold it with one hand and trigger off, pointing it to the ground. He will make it a second nature to always check clear before triggering off, and at other times leave his finger out of the trigger guard.
Sorry wrong spelling I mean was due to advance in medinice a lot of soldiers did not lost their life .Originally posted by want to know:You mean even if medicine is advance. A lot of soldier will still lost their life.
Hi Moxie..Hey, sounds like a voice from the past.
and the det comdr got an ass-full of shrapnel. u from Alpha?
I'm fr the ironhorse bn too..
I have heard about it. I had been to ex-starlight ROC 3 times. Each time I went there, I always lookout for low hanging cables.Originally posted by Xprobe:you heard about this signaller turning into charcoal when the antenna of his radio touch a low hanging power cable in Starlight? Worse of all, the guy next to him gone crazy after the accident.
2x SA is really jinx. So many incidents, being from recruit motorbike accident passed away, cash action live round landed in 3km from the line of sight, live firing in ROC landed wrong place, CO was removed commend after the G4 sport check during alert 1 etc etc ... Ironhouse all the way.Originally posted by Moxie:Hey, sounds like a voice from the past.
I'm the Alpha FSO TA-cum-FO TA. Ring any bell? (No, not Gomez).
if im not wrong, the 2 arty pieces in question is the same one right?Originally posted by dragonstar:Just repeating what I wrote in any thread.
1. In the School of Artillery, the OCS batch before my ANCO course, an officer cadet stood between an M71 hooked on a MAN 7t truck. When the truck moved off, the gun ran over the cadet killing him.
6. During a 155 life firing in Thailand, one of my rounds landed kilometres from the target zone and landed in a padi field. Luckily, no one was hurt, but unconfirmed report stated that a cow got in the way and was turned into hamburger patty.
i do remember a case where an OCT was foolin' around with a GPMG and shot his mate in the chest...Originally posted by John Ching:Not sure if anyone recalls this incident from OCS. A trainee cadet dropped his GMPG & it shot his mate in the back of the head. I'm not clear about the incident but from what I heard, the cadets were all playing a fool at that moment before the accident. Damn immature.
A gun shot victim could survivy a shot if (a) the shot did not damage major organs, (b) the bullet went clean through the victim without ricocheting, (c) the victim does not go into immediate shock & (d) the victim is sent to the nearest hospital in the shortest possible timing. Of course, immediate first aid should be done by stopping the flow of blood from the entry & exit wound. In the movies, they always block the entry wound only.
sounds familiar.Originally posted by Xprobe:you heard about this signaller turning into charcoal when the antenna of his radio touch a low hanging power cable in Starlight? Worse of all, the guy next to him gone crazy after the accident.
Auto will never be used in range except for GPMG, SAW, simply because they have to account for the rounds and only 1 shot i needed to down the target. As for training, no auto will be used afaik, to reduce the chances of ia as well as to prevent the bolt from wearing too fast, (but then i fired in auto in bmt to clear all teh blanks)Originally posted by SpecOps87:THis is not SAF,but NCC.
When I was in Sec.2 in 2001 at the 25m LIVE FIRE range, got this cock from Bishan Park.Upon commencement of firing,he discovered he had an IA.So the normal procedure would be always to apply the selector to the SAFE position 1st.It was a half-feeding.But for some unknown reason,he did not do so.He instead turned the weapon backward and said to the SAF 2Lt. who was the Conductiing Officer and reported the IA.
He was promptly given a complete F**K-over by the 2Lt. It was then discovered that this idiot in question had placed the weapon in AUTO and lucky for him it had developed an IA and did not go off.If not there will be plenty of butts which will be buttered. This guy was barred from firing till everyone had finished and was watched closely by the Conducting Officer, Range CSM and several other NCOs.
Thus I would seriously appeal to all those enlisting, enlisted and have not gone through your live fire at the range yet.PLEASE!!!PLEASE pay attention at when technical handling lessons on your weapons are conducted and to pay extra caution. As the lives of the people around you depend on what you do.
(**PS.JUST TO SIDE-TRACK ALITTLE,CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY IS IT THAT IN THE RANGE,THE AUTO MODE IS NEVER USED?AND CAN ANYONE SHARE WHEN IS THE AUTO MODE USED DURIN TRAINING,THANKS)
sometimes its the soldiers themselves who caused it, btw accidents have def come down, my brother's time had more serious accidents than my time (now), ppl had broken limbs etc, now my time is sprain ankle, sprained backOriginally posted by SibeiSuayKia:wah why so many case 1?
saf no safety first?
That was not a demonstration of "good". That was the least to expect of someone with a firearm who calls himself a soldier. Or maybe you were not informed?Originally posted by tvdog:You "beg to disagree"? LMFAO. Wah lau, so bombastic ah?
The topic is about an accidental discharge and other accidents in SAF. This is the ONLY post you made in the whole thread and you took the opportunity to show how good you think you are. You sad bastard.
If you have nothing useful to contribute just fcuk off.
mm. actually now also got quite a few serious accidents wat......Originally posted by Geforce3:sometimes its the soldiers themselves who caused it, btw accidents have def come down, my brother's time had more serious accidents than my time (now), ppl had broken limbs etc, now my time is sprain ankle, sprained back
