Hmm! You are asking a question not many can answer especially if they do not have any experience in either of the weapon.

But to be fair, its really up to the shooter's preference. Currently in Iraq, there are some Marines reporting that the M4 isn't working to the way they preferred it to but they would still use itas compared to te old versions M16A2s. The report was also published in a Soldier of Foturne mag.

G36 series are made by H&K, therefore, you'll have fans of H&k swearing that its a better weapon then te M4.

Personally, I think both weapons are just as good as long as the shooter knows how to use them effectively & to properly maintain the weapons.

Remember its usually not how good the weapon is but how good the shooters knowledge & skills are.
