Why do you want to get in there?Originally posted by devilgoth:are there any nsf with a sniper vocation here? i was juz wondering how to get that vocation....![]()
500? Forget it then. They'll never let you in. But you can try for shooting contingent. The best shooters I know wears glasses.Originally posted by devilgoth:snipers are cool... all alone out there. no1 to karjiao u. haha... but i think i post also no use le la. my eyesight 500 degrees. since they look at eyesight den forget it. haha.
eahhh but if he can't shoot VERY well, how can he be an instructor in how to shoot?Originally posted by meander:Snipers have interviews too. My friend was earmarked for sniper instructor during his SISPEC after his interview liao. Lucky fellar
I went for the interview, and it seems they look at your eyesight, attitide, testimonial, and even BMT marksmanship result.
FYI........you don't need to be a very good shot to teach. Usually the good shots were made that way when they were in their mother's womb. It's an inborn thing. There is no way I can explain it.Originally posted by beavan:eahhh but if he can't shoot VERY well, how can he be an instructor in how to shoot?![]()
70% inborn, 30% practice...hahaOriginally posted by crosshairs:FYI........you don't need to be a very good shot to teach. Usually the good shots were made that way when they were in their mother's womb. It's an inborn thing. There is no way I can explain it.
Which course are you from? Did you get the "thing"?Originally posted by tchiew:Hi there are actually one sniper platoon in each brigade (including infantry not just guards and commandos). Training is tough but good life thereafter. work in pairs, up to 3 days in field. plently of time to do so thinking.
Btw, you be surprise not many snipers are "truely marksman" by sniper standards, during my course only 20% are.
One shot one kill
This is not correct - there are snipers in all the frontline brigades - including infantry brigades.Originally posted by chunyong:ha, u have to get into Guards and Cdo cos majority of the SAF snipers from there one. then there is a POW thingy u have to pass if my memory didn't fail me. u also have to make ur own ghillie suit and dats one of the shiongest part, but some say its the easiest also, see how u see it loh...
i mean majority lah, anyway, i not from SAF also.Originally posted by bcoy:This is not correct - there are snipers in all the frontline brigades - including infantry brigades.
You could also be wrong. Where did you get your figures? From my understanding, brigade snipers, either equal or outnumber the CDO and Guards snipers, discounting special ops internal training.Originally posted by chunyong:i mean majority lah, anyway, i not from SAF also.
Yup, snipers are brigade assets.Originally posted by bcoy:This is not correct - there are snipers in all the frontline brigades - including infantry brigades.
Again, there are snipers in all frontline brigades, and there are certainly more infantry brigades when compared to the numbers of guards brigades.Originally posted by chunyong:i mean majority lah, anyway, i not from SAF also.
I believe all snipers in SAF have a tag..as long as sniper trained you can wear the tab. It looks like a marksman tag except that it has a star in the middle, positioned exactly where you would sew on your marksman badge.Originally posted by I_love_my_toilet:Yup, snipers are brigade assets.
Commandos have their own snipers.
Some says Guards Snipers had snipers tabs sew on their uniforms, issit true ?
Usually there's a interview for snipers in Sispec during Bslc.
Most important requirement is your eye-sight.
Snipers all 3sgt and above.
All commanders platoon.
Erm......that is not entirely true. That tab is not a standard dress for a No.4 uniform in the army. From what I understand it was a unit arrangement. The golden badge version however is standard issue and worn on the No.3 uniform.Originally posted by malcolmloke:I believe all snipers in SAF have a tag..as long as sniper trained you can wear the tab.
