errr.... got automatic M203 meh?Originally posted by meander:Anyone used the automatic version of the M203 ? Is it good ?
Havn't fired one of those in a long time. I do remember the recoil is hell though. I remember this guy who didn't brace the m203 properly against his shoulder. So during the subsequent recoil, the M203 aiming sight struck his face with quite a bit of force.
Oh man the blood ....

Got, the 40mm AGL loh. No semi-auto for it. So abit hard to control ur rate of fire. 5 rounds away before you can even say "ali baba".Originally posted by fett:errr.... got automatic M203 meh?
Its the same thing, just fitted on another rifle.Originally posted by martin_lim85:had anyone tried the SAR M203????
Heh heh.....sgfish. This is interesting. Can you name which weapons are muzzle loaded other than muskets and 19th century rifles?Originally posted by sgFish:i'm just wondering..how is the M-203 reloaded? from the muzzle or from the back?
Towed, manpack, and manportable mortars.Originally posted by crosshairs:Heh heh.....sgfish. This is interesting. Can you name which weapons are muzzle loaded other than muskets and 19th century rifles?

I am referring to
1. Mortars that are towed by vehicles. Example: 120mm
2. Mortars that can be disassembled and carried on your back or a lot of backs.
Example - 81mm
3. Mortars that are portable. Example - 60mm

There have been commercially made pocket mortars that bring a new meaning to the term "pocket artillery"
blue on blue, my faultOriginally posted by Johnston:say again , all after your transmission at 1835H.
Subject Johnston said
Towed, manpack, and manportable mortars.
In response to a question:
Heh heh.....sgfish. This is interesting. Can you name which weapons are muzzle loaded other than muskets and 19th century rifles?
By subject Crosshairs, in response to a question by subject SgFish.
Subject fett took the word "towed" in the response to indicated that Johnston meant the M220 series of ATGM, which are popularly called TOW, because they are:
Tube-Launched
Optically Guided
(lowercase) antitank
Weapons.
at 1842H, subject Johnston clarified his original statement, and reiterated that he meant "towed" , as in "towed mortars".
However, at 1847 H, subject fett still thought that subject Johnston meant TOW ATGMs, so he made the following post:
and i say again, it's portable, not packable.
Launcher w/TOW 2 Mods: 204.6 pounds (92.89 kilograms) you want to pack this ?!
Missile Guidance Set: 52.8 pounds (23.97 kilograms) and this too ?!
TOW 2 Missile: 47.4 pounds (21.52 kilograms) and, what, have 1 round only?!
TOW 2A Missile: 49.9 pounds (22.65 kilograms) or this ?
TOW 2B Missile: 49.8 pounds (22.60 kilograms) or this ?
we infantry, not pack animal, k?
And to all this: www.fas.org has this to say,
The TOW is a crew portable, vehicle-mounted, heavy anitarmor weapon system consisting of a launcher and one of five versions of the TOW missile

Dude, the people in the labs and weapon companies sit down at the table and use formulae to calculate how much a man can carry.Originally posted by fett:we infantry, not pack animal, k?
charge me all they want, but if i can't carry it, i won't ask my men to do it.Originally posted by Johnston:Dude, the people in the labs and weapon companies sit down at the table and use formulae to calculate how much a man can carry.
If they say a ATGM system can be broken up and carried on our back, we lan lan have to do what the designers said.
