i'm just wondering..how is the M-203 reloaded? from the muzzle or from the back?

From the back, the barrel can be pushed to the front. And when you pull it back, it cocks the launcher already.

Anyone used the automatic version of the M203 ? Is it good ?
Havn't fired one of those in a long time. I do remember the recoil is hell though. I remember this guy who didn't brace the m203 properly against his shoulder. So during the subsequent recoil, the M203 aiming sight struck his face with quite a bit of force.

Got, the 40mm AGL loh. No semi-auto for it. So abit hard to control ur rate of fire. 5 rounds away before you can even say "ali baba".Originally posted by fett:errr.... got automatic M203 meh? -

1. Mortars that are towed by vehicles. Example: 120mm
2. Mortars that can be disassembled and carried on your back or a lot of backs.
Example - 81mm
3. Mortars that are portable. Example - 60mm

If subject Fett though that subject Johnston was saying that "the TOW ATGM system is meant for carrying on infantrymen's backs"....
The US M224 60mm Mortar can be used either by one man, or a team.
There are pictures of US riflemen posing with the M224 in it's handheld version.
In addition:
The TOW ATGM system breaks down into "5 man-portable parts", and as such, can be considered man-portable, if you really stretch the meaning of "man-portable".
Addendum:
Howitzers and AA weapons can be broken down and made portable too.

During my days as an arty detachment commander, after training, one of my gunners about 1.55m 43kg was able to run while carry a 45kg training projectile in each hand (90kg total), with a 1+kg steel helmut, 3+kg M16 and two filled water bottles (i.e. more than twice his body weight - and he is a skinny weak-looking guy )
