i loved the stories my friends tell me...
there was this warrant, did the route march with them without a rifle sling, so he held onto the... ehhhh... can't remember the name of that part, what's the plastic covering the barrel???
ok anyway he held the rifle that way through the route march, at the end he challenged them all to a sprint to the finish. He was pretty big size (fat like my friend said) so they expected to outrun an overweight uncle. Well, they all lost.
Then another story was about this other warrant who they thought he carried pillows in his field pack when doing route march, my ex unit colleague was something like his runner. So when they were taking a break, the one time the warrant put down his field pack, my friend went to try to pick it up and it was heavy (full pack eh?).
And on the same warrant, there was one point they were blocked by a high vertical rock, so the warrant told them to wait. Most of them thought "Like real, want to climb", he climbed up, full pack and all... tied a toggle rope for the men and asked the guys to follow.
haha... yeah... got a lot of these crazy uncles in there...
actually kena one before... 24km route march at FAST march pace... refused to stop for break at 1/2 way point, just went there and u-turned

the lobos manning the water point there also shocked man... and we were all close to dying

but this old guy was like a duracell bunny! just kept going! his runner actually blacked out when we reached the coy line... he was totally shagged out following that old man's pace...
and we were all blistered and aching all over from that experience... luckily next day was lessons only... if still must go out field i think all die man

but the worse i kena was one week when we had SOC, field training, life firing AND nutcracker... after nutcracker was SOC re-test

needless to say, those who failed the first time got a WORSE timing the second time
