Oh.. Sispec...
Place full of memories regardless good or bad ones.
Its a point of time when u r at the peak of ur fitness...
Endurace run, fast march, double from point to point.
Its a point of time u discover that PTIs in sispec r wonderful.
No more tekan from PTI, like in BMT
Its a point of time u discover that how fast u can eat during meal times.
And the food really tasted nice
Its a point of time u drink from pepsi, cocacola, sprite, 100 plus 500ml plastic bottles instead of steel mugs.
7 core values replaced 2 famous phrases " With Pride, I lead"
Its a point of time when u spend most of the time inside " rocky hill "
Charge here n there, fire movement, deliberate ambush etc
N many many more... !
Trust me, sispec is tough but u still can enjoy urself there. -

If you want to peacefully float through the course, remains a LOW profile. Life will be much easier.
This is one of a life time, enjoyed it. Life might be tough, good for experience and exposure. Everyone(almost) will pull through. My platoon have 3 trainees failed the course 2 days before POP, damn bastard Encik(Commando/Ranger/SOF).

Your experience almost the same as mine and but I am 1 batch earlier than you.
Apache company, OC was SWO Mike Teo. (He was the first SWO I ever saw from Armour)
While stand-two, instructor walked over and stepped near our fox hole and due to the rain and muddy environment, that side of the fox hole collapsed and half buried me in mud........

Being an Armour Mono-intake, the routine in Sispec was heaven as compared to BMT and Trade course.....
The feeling was like being raisen from Hell to Heaven......
Armour - Revele - 530am
Sispec - Revele - 7am
Armour - BMT only got 1 canteen break
Sispec - Countless Canteen breaks. Instructor even encourgaged us to go canteen breaks.
Armour - Not even 1 nights off during BMT and Trade course
Sispec - a few night offs.
At Sispec, we were treated as future commanders thus the instructors at least treat us better.....
But once out of Sispec and back to School Of Armour for conversion, it was like falling from grace........Heaven back to Hell..... again.....

Worse than failing SAFINCOS was re-course due to injury. Some plantoon mates droped OOC second time as injury recurred. Some poor platoon mates became RP NCO (Field Defence Squadron, Division etc.) after 3 months of hell. Was it worth it? -

Trade course is tough coz u r learning ur trade that will stick wif u for next 13yrs after u ord. Haha...
Armour infantry ?
If u r a SAW gunner, u only learn SAW rite ? Cross training later...
Plus section movement, mount n dismount, AFV drills etc.
Trust me, life in an unit is much much better in a training school lor. -
That was only for 1st couple of days.....which batch me cannot remember but remember was in '93

If I remember correctly, we only had 1 night off.......
Our platoon instructor (an Indian 2WO) also told us we can request for night off one when there is no night training......and we were like
Wu-Yia-Bo??!!! He said Wu-Yia-Lah!!
Maybe because we were almost at the end of our course......or he took pity on us Armour Trooper kia......
90% of our platoon were from Armour ......

If I remember correctly, during trade course, you are supposed to learned whatever weapons they throw at you.....M16 S/S, Law, GPMG, 84RR, 0.5HMG, SAW etc etc
Based on your technical proficiency, the commanders will assign you to your respecitive appointment.
It only after the trade course, the troopers start getting into their appointment for all the drills........
After SISPEC, we went to SOA for conversion.........After conversion, went back to our own unit to command the men we eat, sleep, sweat, bled with during the BMT.....kind of surreal then.........
FYI, at that time, we were still school in the old Armour vehicle.....M113 with Browning HMG...where when you want to turn the cupola, you need to kick the LAW1 sitting inside the M113 to unlock the cupola lock so that the SC can triverse the cupola for you and kick him again to lock the cupola....... not the Ultra using electric power joystick..........
