in WWII Japan make a mistake by not bombing Pearl Harbor until it was so much scrap. And also a mistake because Intelligence did not tell them to withhold their attack until the USN carriers were back in port.
Are you aware until the Battle of Midway, Japan held naval superiority because of her massed task force of carriers?
No battleship has ever been a sitting duck for air attack, unless you count the german battleship sunk to prove that aircraft can sink ships.
Rather, every WWII battleship had enough AA guns to comprise a battalion or two.

Those planes had to dive low altitude for the bombs to be accurate..
and for the bullets to hit battleship..it's impossible coz no damage at all

The American got the advantage as they manage to break the code of the japanese and thus enable them to know the japan is attacking middleway, which let them able to prepare for attack, also deploy their aircraft carriers ...
which in the end let to sinkings of japanese carriers to give US navy the advantage. -

But what about the British Royal Navy? Besides the embarrassing loss of 2 massive battleships the HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales, were there any other famous naval engagements between the Brits and Japs worthy of note?
Another historical note was that during the Russo-Japanese War that happened before WW2, the Japs nearly wiped out the Russian Navy, which was also quite a formidable force. And somehow, the Russian Navy didn't seem to have quite recovered from it. Did the Russian Navy in WW2 have any famous ships or battles? -

It was a close-run thing in the Pacific between the US and the Japanese around 1942 and 1943. Pearl Harbor disabled a large chunk of the Pacific fleet less the USS Langley was reduced to delivering P-40s to reinforce the island of Java against Japanese invasion - it was lost here. With the hindsight of history we know that this was the turning point, for the next battle at Midway was the beginning of the end for the Japanese. Still the US lost the Yorktown at Midway, the USS Wasp to a submarine in September. and the Hornet at Santa Cruz. The sinking of the USS Enterprise was the ONLY operating US carrier in the Pacific, from late October to early December 1942.
So despite the Japanese losing carriers at Midway, it was far from a foregone conclusion.
As far as the Royal Navy was concerned, after the disastrous Force Z (Prince of Wales and Repulse) defeat, remnants of that fleet escaped to Java, combined with a cobbled-together force comprising of Dutch, British, Australian and Australian ships, known as ABDA. No carriers and hardly enough stuff to prevent Japanese landings on Java and in Bali. The Japanese went as far as to bomb Darwin though no landings were made on the Australian continent.
The Japanese also took their carriers toward India, flying raids on Ceylon, intercepting merchant shipping, and sinking the British HMS Hermes in the process. Shortly thereafter Japan's efforts turned back to the Solomons and trying to invade Guadalcanal and Papua New Guinea. -

No carrier was actually sent. But a carrier was actually earmarked. However, the Stukas heavily damaged the carrier in the Mediteran (spelling), I think it was the HMS Illustrious/Formidable.
As such no carrier was available. Even if a carrier was available, I don't it could do much against the swarm of crack Japanese pilots. Probably will be sunk together with the Repulse and the POW. -

In this age, how did the international community every where, who advocate human rights, fail to take notice of these gross human rights violations against the Chinese minority in Indonesia?
According to a survey made by rescue organizations, there were more than 300 women and girls raped in Jakarta alone, and more than a thousand elsewhere throughout the country during these two days of rampage.
The Chinese did not dare to protest on the street for fear of a return of the 1967 anti-Chinese riots that caused tens of thousands of deaths and a huge loss of personal property. We Chinese, most of whom have lived in Indonesia for generations, without political power or even voice, have been forced to suffer great human indignity in silence.
We are counting on the international communities to spread the news of our sufferings, and bring our voices to let other peoples know how the Indonesian government has failed to protect the human rights and properties of its minorities.
We earnestly hope that you, the citizens of the world, will contact the Indonesian embassies in your countries to protest loudly in our behalf.
We are in gratitude for whatever you can do to deliver us from this intolerable sufferance.
