First declare a period of time allowing taiwanese not wanting to get involved to go to china, housing, food provided. Whether the taiwanese come to china or not but I am certain many will flee Taiwan.Too simplistic - Taiwan has 23m people! Even at 1/10 of that, 2.3m is a lot to absorb at one go, & the coastal provinces of the Mainland are already densely populated. Why would China partake a possible humanitarian disaster, even as the Taiwanese can slip in agents & sympathizers among the migrants?
IMHO, Some of these taiwanese will leave for USA, perhaps maybe 10% might wanna come singapore?Originally posted by Moxie:Too simplistic - Taiwan has 23m people! All those who wanna flee will do so, but IMO only relatively a few to China.
Actually this has been discussed before in China Military Forum. I remember there was one time where Lee Kuan Yew ask China to inform Singapore if China is going to invade Taiwan so that Singaporean soldier can be evacuated out of Taiwan before China invade.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Let's see who wins after we implement a naval blockade of the Malacca Straits and conduct interdiction of Chinese shipping after their hypothetical put-down of Singapore and their purposeful firing on SAF troops who could not get out of Taiwan in time.If you were in Taiwan and could not escape a sudden strike, what would you do?
I seriously believe if China harms our forces on purpose, we will not kowtow to them.We will fight back. And we will not leave without doing some serious retaliation.Unless its running dogs running the government.![]()
A lot of Taiwanese are already fleeing to china. In fact China is already the 4th hottest destination for emigrating Taiwanese. Currently there are estimated to be around 4 million Taiwanese living in the mainland. Here's the related article:Originally posted by Moxie:All those who wanna flee will do so, but IMO only relatively a few to China.
The Taiwanese have always pride themselves as a prosperous democracy and label China as a cruel dictatorship but yet more and more taiwanese want to live there. Really ironic.Originally posted by Moxie:Mine was a response to a wartime hypothesis by another poster.
Besides, the article didn't clarify if citizenship was renounced. The suggestion is it's not, since the categorization "Taiwanese" was used throughout.
Good info, anyway.
won't the taiwanese be suspicious if singapore recalls its soldier and close its embassy...? it was meant to be a light-hearted talks.. it's not going to happen. but who's know?Originally posted by want to know:Actually this has been discussed before in China Military Forum. I don't think China is going to inform Singapore if China is going to invade Taiwan. China need the element of surprise.
Some of the China poster feel that Singaporean soldier is training in Taiwan illegally without the permission of China.
