Well a real Glock if I remember correct is about US$460 that is where I last seen it it in the biggest outdoor shop in US.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Johnston,Airsoft GLock 17 can be bought at S$400,but if you get an actual Glock 17,I reckon it would cost more then that....
Besides,what to do,we have 2 ways,either resign ourselves to fate or petition...haha

I understand your point, except the one above... isn't it easier to track someone down in a small country if he commits a crime compare to a big country?Originally posted by |-|05|:And the reason the gov doesnt just allow us to ran amok is mainly due to the fact that we are a small country and cannot afford such a painful lesson.
Yes, but that's not the point is it? So what if you can find the immatured ass-hole after he had killed some people with his gun?Originally posted by Cpl Ho:I understand your point, except the one above... isn't it easier to track someone down in a small country if he commits a crime compare to a big country?![]()
yes it is.....but imagine what that would do to investor confidence? easier to track...but easier to get killed to.It works both ways man.Originally posted by Cpl Ho:I understand your point, except the one above... isn't it easier to track someone down in a small country if he commits a crime compare to a big country?![]()
Sorry, dun really understand your point... you mean a smaller country is 'much easier for criminals to get guns by breaking into a gun owner's home and stealing the gun'? Why so? You mean it's much harder in other countries where their houses are far apart and their doors are usually opened?Originally posted by dragonstar:Yes, but that's not the point is it? And it makes it so much easier for criminals to get guns by breaking into a gun owner's home and stealing the gun.
Hmmm... I dun think investor confidence would be affected by some airsoft guns... R they affected in HK? More likely investors are not coming because the place is boring and the workers have no passion and creativity...Originally posted by |-|05|:yes it is.....but imagine what that would do to investor confidence? easier to track...but easier to get killed to.It works both ways man.
besides letting guns out would be the last thing on the list. Before that there would be easing of other laws. It's the easing of all these erm...laws that would cause problems man
HK, with its history of AK47 robbers spraying rounds in downtown Central has no problems with investor confidence. Wah, lucky me man, I just took the MTR from Central to CausewayBay 5 minutes before the shooting started. This was in 1995.Originally posted by Cpl Ho:Hmmm... What laws cause wat problems? Dun understand what you are trying to say...![]()
I meant if airsoft guns were allowed and more robberies happen investor confidence will dip. After all if some1 pulls out something that looks and maybe even feels like the real thing, you cannot confirm that it is not....you dont wanna take the risk now do u?That would pose a problem.Especially if some ass does bring in a real gun and runs loose. With so many look alikes how the heck are you going to find out which?Originally posted by Cpl Ho:Hmmm... exactly my point....If this happens in Singapore, there will be a dip in investor confidence. It will most likely be for a short while....maybe 6mths? Well during those 6mths others in the reigon will gladly fill in and take those investor money away.Singapore cannot allow that to happen.I mean look how the gov stepped in with the SIA dispute. The went in and said....Look we cannot allow your differences to affect singapore as a transport hub so u either work it out or we do it for u!Originally posted by Xprobe:HK, with its history of AK47 robbers spraying rounds in downtown Central has no problems with investor confidence. agree dat our police and army should use airsoft to mimic war situationOriginally posted by tvdog:I used to live in Hong Kong and another Singaporean friend living there quickly introduceed me to airsoft guns.
I bought and modified an MP5 and joined in in "wargames" with other airgun enthusiasts, mostly Hong Kongers.
The HKers love to dress up in full gear with helmet, SBO and flak vests!
Some would be dressed as SS Waffen and armed with the Stg 43.
Some would be dressed as SWAT in full gear with sidearms etc. Very impressive - to look at.
Me and my friend are rather more simple. He dons his SAF No 4, SBO and beret where I just wear my No4 pants and boots. Top I wear a hunting camo smock my friend gave me. No SBO or headgear.
Airsoft battles are really adrenalin pumping events. Everyone has heavily-modified weapons that will give you severe swelling if you get shot too close.
It's great fun as once, I saw a troop of about 15 from the enemy side trying to flank us. I could see them from 500m away cos one of the idiots was dressed in SWAT all black moving through low bush!
I led my friend and another HKer to a position to ambush them. When they walked into our trap, we shot about 12 of them. But one guy broke off and attacked me from a side I wasn't watching. I got shot in the neck, arm and fingers.
My neck bled from a pellet cut and my fingers were swelling slightly as was my arm. He shot me from about 10 metres away.
My friend shot him in return.
SAF should introduce this for training. Never have I taken cover or run so quickly during SAF training. But in airsoft battles, you really learn to flatten yourself on the ground or find better cover whem some idiot is shreddding the foilage of the bush you are hiding behind with a deadly spray of pellets.
With this kind of hurt you would definitely take your training very seriously. For example, you would understand that camouflaging yourself with grass is not such a silly idea after all...

Actually, a few HK guys remodeled the airsoft to shoot another type of ammo instead of pellets. The round is a paint round held in a steel jacket. The catridge actually ejects after each shot. And the round can be shot more or less the same projectile as a live one.Originally posted by chunyong:agree dat our police and army should use airsoft to mimic war situation
FX rounds, we have it here also.Originally posted by Xprobe:Actually, a few HK guys remodeled the airsoft to shoot another type of ammo instead of pellets. The US Army/ Marines actually bought the technology and used it to train their troops.
OIC, SAF also use this technology? For what?Originally posted by chunyong:FX rounds, we have it here also.
