I think the TV version cut out a lot of stuff. I remember that there is greater coverage from the Japanese angle. For example on how the Japanese train very hard for the attack... and also during the attack, also see the Japanese view. But in the TV version a lot of of this is cut out. They only show Adm Nagumo and ignored the Japanese airmen and pilots.
But the TV version retain all the love love shots and also all flag waving american parts.... like how Doolittle asked them to take one step forward.... -

If I compare the old pearl harbour movie 'Tora Tora Tora' to the present Pearl harbour. 10 points for Tora x 3 and 6 points for 'Pearl Harbour'!
