Very rare badget in SAF - pathfinder

During my NSF days in Commando, I found the pathfinder badge is the rarest among the elite... I knew only 2 WOs wore this. Even rarer than the US ranger yellow tab.
I am curious about this badge... any commends?

Not an expert myself.
But i understand that pathfinder is a US badge. Specialise in preparing drop zone for paratroopers. -

Er! Thats also the same badge issued to British airborne pathfinders. I believe they started the school after WW II. Then again I could be wrong.
Except for the RANGERs, the U.S military didn't really start anything before the Brits. D-boys base on SAS, sniper school after vietnam had similarities with the Brits school, etc.

what about the American Air Assault Course .. my CSM in SISPEC had one and he also got marksmanship for 3 of the range ... he told that when he wear No. 1, he will put up all these badges ...

Air assault is basically doing the same things as Guards. Just get an extra badge. -

Hmm! Have you ever seen a senior U.S Marine in No.1? If worst when they are dressed in their No.2, they looke like damn boy scouts. -

The seniors in my NSF unit used to be Guardsmen.. but think before i was posted to my unit, TRADOC changed their plans.My unit no longer Guradsmen. So i'm just a infantry.After my seniors ( guardsmen ) ORDed, they serve as Pathfinder during their reservists cycle. There are very few pathfinders around. But heard there seems to be a shortage... thus restarting the pathfinder course again..?? Got a fren.. NSF as PTI ( many yrs back )... but during his reservist,,, he serve as a pathfinder after gg thru the course..

wah how does one guy prepare the entire drop zone?isn't it abit impossible?
