  I play this with my friends for the fun of it... at most, the stuff used are related to current times... other than that... its just a game.
  
  But comanches... why don't they have apaches????

  I think even though these RTS games cannot realistically simulate commanding troops in actual combat, they do have instructional value.
  
  When gamers are playing, the are presented with tactical problems. Realistic to real conditions? not a chance. but on-screen, there's a objective to achieve. there's ground to be taken.
  
  Given so much resources, what can the gamer do to achieve that objective? What are the enemy base defences? How can it be overcome? Do i send in Col Burton to disable the power generators, and hence the gatling guns, to allow my armour to punch through? Should I send in air-strike instead? Do I station snipers around the perimeter to take out enemy troops from a distance?
  
  All these train a person's problem solving skills. In real ops, there are certainly many more things to do than just moving men around. But in pare it down to the most basic level, it's also about solving tactical problems.

  well cuz its supposedly set in the near future...like cold fusion is a very scientifically controversial topic now, but in the game there are cold fusion reactors...
  
  btw, the comanche programme is cancelled already right?

  Well, controversial or not, at least the attack units are easier to relate...
  
  like i can say "I just dropped my rangers off with my chinook and they raided the enemy while my pathfinders took their infantry down one by one"
  
  comanche cancelled... ehhhhh not sure about that. gotta ask those who read the news often. I'll only hear things when people talk about it... or when there's a briefing going on.
