I prefer moderate toughen in training. Always explain the need for certain tough actions before moving forward with the training program.
So does these kind of things happen to you before? Since you are from South Korea. I assume that you a Korean male who serve in the Military before. Do your instructor or officer abused you before? Do you encourage abusing of soldier yourself to toughen them up?Originally posted by comberbache:hazing can be useful...if kept within reasonable bounds. (admittedly, lining up new soldiers and kicking them down one by one is a bit harsh...)
also, the worst only lasts for a (relatively) short time. once you become a senior towards the end of your service, it becomes your turn the haze the ####ing new guys!!!bwahahahaha!!!
ok, it's definately not the best leadership method, but it gets the job done, without any "touchy-feely" cr@p... considering the military's low budget, poor resouces, forced condscription system, and also the high possibility of being sent to actual combat, it's kinda inevitable something like this would emerge within the enlisted ranks...
so, does it make them tougher? yes
does it make them better soldiers? to a certain extent, yes (altough exactly to what extent, is debatable....)
keep in mind: russia is not the only country with an instituionalised hazing system. other countries practice it as well, to varying degrees - including south korea (where i'm from, btw...) in fact, russia's and korea's military share a number of striking similarities, except that korea's is a lot better, but i may be a little bit biased on this point...![]()
Is he from the ROKAF?Originally posted by want to know:So does these kind of things happen to you before? Since you are from South Korea. I heard that North Korea also have these kind of system where soldier are abused. Would you mind telling me more.
Could you tell me more about your National Service? What kind of training did you undergo. Share with me please.
I guess Korean National Service is a hell lots tougher than Singaporean National Service!
ohhh yeah sure it works. They're really tough, like, when rigor mortis sets in you know. Yeah. Word.Originally posted by want to know:
I personally would feel better going to Iraq with a motivated mate then to have a mentally unstable mate, due to abusive trainning", lossing it & shooting at everything including me also.Originally posted by JusticeLegal:Singaporean males are waterdown versions of the days before. the problem is that some of them do die..Originally posted by meander:" What does not kill you only makes you stronger "
Somewhat true ?

It will onli make the Medical centre busier with the sudden rise in the number or report sick personnel.ha
I'm sure you can endure lots of physical exercise, now do 100 push ups or else I kick your ass!!Originally posted by JusticeLegal:Singaporean males are waterdown versions of the days before. Vietnam, the VCs were not even well trained soldiers yet they were motivated enough to fight the Japs, Frenchies & the Americans. Suicide bombers are also not being tekan until they volunteer for mission. So why the need to tekan your own soldiers? Its all about motivating person to fight as a soldier. Soldiers are not born to be, they are all made to be.Originally posted by Moxie:Hang on - what's the definition of "abuse" here? (Didn't click on the links after the spyware warning.)
If it infers tekan-ing, as locally defined, I'm not against that - since I'm supposedly from the 2G Army that believed in the philosophy of "tear apart the civilian personality, in order to build a soldier profile". Been there, done that.
and when you do die, and rigor mortis sets in, sureeee u'd be tough as hell.Originally posted by meander:" What does not kill you only makes you stronger "

But the VCs are very tough.
