One handed and two handed driving.

wad do u guys think of One handed and two handed driving? Any difference? the advantages and disadvantages?
I use one handed driving for since I started playing ID which a month, I feel that one handed driving puts a lot of strain on the right wrist. I would Like to change to two handed driving but feels that I can turn as wheel as single handed, especially when turning to the right where the left hand is in control of the steering.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. -
personally, i prefer the one-handed driving... i feel that my left hand takes charge of gear shifting, and right hand for steering... i'm so used to one-handed driving, that when i try two-handed driving, my turnings go haywire.. but a few minths after playing Initial D, my right hand is used to it liao..
so, if u are using one-handed driving, i suggest that u stick to it and get used to it...?
cuz i saw this guy driving with 2 hands and his gear stopped at gear 3, and the way he turned look like a nerd..
so, hope u enjoy one-handed driving..

but the good thing about two handed driving is that it can help to keep ur car stable when playing those windy maps like happo. It helps to keep ur car ready to turn left or right. One hand driving tends to make ur car bang a lot but one hand driving is mostly recommended to be used in all maps except happo. I use two handed driving when i started playing ID and its kinda of foolish to see ur arms crossing against each other when u tackle a hairpin turn.. Well this depends on each personal opinion...

foolish? well... Another reason is one hand driving isvery strainful to the single arm while two hand driving is more balanced, I think. tats y I am think whether to change to two hand driving or not. -
Haha... actually how u drive depends on how u feel n get used to it... for mi im also single handed driving coz its easier to change gear ... when u got used to it its not much strain on the arm... For mi in Myogi n Usui i still use one arm n i put the other arm on my lap... lolz.. feels quite relaxed driving like tat rather then tangling my arms when i got stressed when the speed gets faster... if u think single handed is strainful maybe u can try reduce the steering wheel force... i set mine at 2.. and its doing well so far... although im not very fast but fair enuf... ic... when I played akina todae, i found out that when using one hand steering, when turning to the right side, the steering wheel could not go full distance, which means that the steering wheel could turn 270 degree, but could only turn about 90 degree and a little more when using one hand. and ya.. i use steering 3 perharps should try 2. thanks 4 your advice!

it varies from person to person. for me i cant drive one hand i try but cant do it. no point ask one hand drivers to change to two hand because it would feel funny. i even seen one player change gear with right hand! do whatever feels right and keep doing it till the end...

I'm driving with 1 hand too. I can't drive with 2 hands to turn around the corners of iroha and i think i'm, getting used to 1 hand driving. But, after playing initial d for so long, i found out that when i move my thumb, i can feel abit of pain inside.. must be due to turning the steerings too quickly and i have set my stiffness of the steering to 2.

yea..... can get health problems when playing initial D lyk Thumb numbness..

i normally use one hand... the other one must be on the gear stick so can change gear anytime
but if have to pass TP then must use both hands

seems 1 handed is more popular in the game... in real life though it is better to drive with both hands on the wheel imho.

Doesnt really matter. Just make sure in REAL LIFE, for safety reasons, drive with both hands on the steering wheel.

for me i thik i wil use 2 hand in 1st 2 map n other use 1 hand

as for me ...one handed is fine for me.. as i always leave my steering wheel to 9. i'm used to it. even when i'm really driving in real life.. it's the same.. as for turning.. to achieve full turning before the turn make sure you move yr hand more to the left if you're turning right,,, so that your hand or wrist will not get entangled..
it's true that it's hard for one handed to become two handed... so i suggest stick with the hand you're comfortable... and it's a habit.. as you can perform well when you;'re using that method..
for me i can drive with either left or right... doing drift with either hand. so its comfort that matter...

I really don't get how people drive one handed. I've always driven two-handed because I have the most control on the wheel. With one hand I can't make the turn fast enough or I can't turn left then right immediately fast enough.

A good racing driver would be able to adapt easily to both methods......
He would be able to exploit the best of both methods n use either one when befits the situation. -
